Booty also lost the UAB game because he ran a play that wasn’t called by the coach, and was intercepted to seal the loss. Booty thought he was much better than he was in reality. He’d have you believe that every busted play was caused by a player other than himself.

Says players were Rohan’s buddies and started making plays for him. That’s called respect and leadership. Having that from your teammates or coworkers goes a long way

Very, very interesting conversation. Seems like an ok guy but pretty bitter about a peach bowl game where he was replaced. Said he loved Rohan but believed he was a much better passer than rohan. Said at halftime of that game when rohan was told he would start a left tackle who was hurt then decided he would play. Said all the players were rohans buddy and certain receivers started making plays for him and if he had it to go over again would have told saban he wasn't coming out of the game. Said he relates to jalen hurts. Very upfront dude. He lives in Austin tx and he is helping his brother start up a high school Football program out there.

Sounds like a whole lot of butthurt from Josh. I never had any issues with him as a QB. But, when Rohan came in nad was effective, it was clear that 1) he was the better QB or 2) the team responded better to him. Either way, the only person that couldve fixed or prevented that from happening was Josh Booty.

I was at that game. It was night and day with him out and Rohan in. He’s just not a leader.

He didn't say anything about Burrow. Totally irrelevant now, isn't it?

I believe he only made it to the majors because it was in his contract that they had to promote him. He was garbage in the end in both sports. Abram also grew a vagina his sophomore year and would run out of bounds after every catch unforced.

Well FWIW Josh booty was THE man that led team when we beat alabama ar home for first time this century.

Plus rohan got pinched by the cops for stealing.
I hate a thief. Regardless who he was or what he did in his former time.

There’s a reason there is a saying, “Third and Rohan. And it has nothing to do with either Booty.

Let's say every word Booty said was true.

It seems lost on him that if you're poison on the team to the point that a guy not even dressed out suddenly wants to play when you aren't in, that's a you problem.

Oh sure. I see the subtext. He's playing the black vs white thing.........but bottom line. Black players aren't exactly not used to playing with white QBs.

It would appear their primary reason for not liking him was he's an a-hole, not that he's white.

I mean, he apparently STILL is kind of an a-hole because shite man........that water is WAAAAAAY under the bridge and he's still whining about it.

Booty came into Lsu after a few years in the MLB. In 97 he won a WS with the Marlins, I bet his ego was over the top.

Booty wasn't even on the Marlins 1997 World Series roster and only had 5 AB's all that season - 26 AB's for his entire MLB career. The guy was a .198 career hitter in the minor leagues and struck out once every 2.8 AB. The only thing that he could brag about when he walked onto campus is the record signing bonus he bamboozled the Marlins out of.

Undeniable facts.
1-Booty was the best prototypical passing QB.
2- Saban agreed, and tried to play Booty over Rohan game after game.
3- The team played better with Rohan.
4- Saban surrendered to the inevitable and benched Booty.

Why? Pure speculation since Saban has never given an in depth explanation. But:
1-IMHO Josh was more of an a-hole, and Rohan was more like able. Perhaps team played 95% Josh and 100% Rohan?
2- Perhaps the team functioned better with Rohan’s skill base.
3- Or perhaps the team sandbagged Booty because they hated him and loved Rohan.

Now Booty and family fully embrace #3. I don’t agree. If a lineman gives up a hurry, hit, or sack he hurts his playing time and future draft status. And if the receiver screws up they face the same.

I think an unknown combination of #1 and #2 are the answer. I think Rohan’s talent and technique just fit better. His fellow players felt the same, and the enthusiasm gave that extra performance percentage. Therefore the injured player was willing to risk more injury since he saw the chance of victory increase.

I don’t dislike the Bootys, I wish it had turned out different, and I think Josh would be a happier human being if he gives up reason #3.
