Peyton Manning ended up going to Tennessee because of Josh Booty committing to LSU. Archie said in 2019, Peyton wishes he had,” Manning said. “He regrets he didn’t get to play there
It would be fun to think of what could have happened that year if Josh Booty went somewhere else and Peyton Manning committed to LSU.
I only mention it because I would think that Arch would be more likely to go to LSU if that happened.

Archie wisely counseled his kid to go to a school with a coach who would develop him toward being an NFL-ready QB. And hat's just what happened.
And Manning did not run from Booty. In fact, Tennessee already had another great freshman recruit at QB - a guy named Branndon Stewart, who was a hot shot recruit out of Texas.
