The look from afar on both Meatball and Munoz tells me they are likely staying at Baylor

O could have kept both but Meatball came down to him and Bill Johnson and Meatball is not staying at LSU as an analyst. Plus I think LaCoutoure appears to be the one O is grooming now. He was with him on recruiting trip.

Munoz seems like the same thing, if you want him why did you let him leave in the first place without offering him a contract. If he's that important you promote him ASAP. Curtis Johnson would be a much better recruiter but how will he gel as passing game coord instead of WR coach.

Muñoz was smart to jump on that opportunity because it’s a step up from an analyst, and if he doesn’t get a look from LSU to replace Brady or from another bigger school for a similar role then he’s got a great fallback at Baylor with a familiar staff.

Sometimes other opportunities come up. I know Les hired Chip Lindsey to be his OC and a few weeks later he got the Troy HC job. The other day i read some smaller east coast school lost their recently hired DC because he got an offer from a power conference school.

Yea but you have to consider where the information comes from that he is “gone” in both instances. If he is just offered, that is irresponsible reporting, tho I wouldn’t totally rule it out.

Just seems like before any contracts were signed, there were verbal agreements made & a bidding war ensued, which is why the back & forth. If the reports are accurate that Baylor tripled his salary, that sounds like a counter to LSU attempting to give him a raise as well

But back to Munoz. His twitter profile literally says “Baylor football”. It’s just weird cause O never openly names names like this. & the dude is in Waco it seems already. Just sounds like a public shot aimed at Aranda

Yea who knows. Not sure what O’s plans even are for DL coach if he’s gonna keep BJ as a helping hand or hire another analyst to replace Udeze. Like someone else said LaCouture looks like he’s being groomed as the next meatball. Going to Baylor at least gives him an opportunity to show he can coach these guys up on his own without the likes of O, Pete, Johnson, Udeze etc and their expertise around. For that reason im kinda surprised Mickey didn’t take that job with NEB as it would’ve actually been a decent move for his coaching career, he’d have to bet on Frost’s tenure working out tho so i can see why he declined.

Exactly my thoughts when reading this. I am more concerned that LE and I agree on something.

Same interview O says he can be patient because we got Slinger. He’s the glue. I hope O doesn’t put too much stock in Ensminger as the reason for the success. Back to mediocrity if so

The reason this hire is taking so long is because this candidate will likely be a future replacement for Ensminger as OC.

I can't imagine Steve is going to want to be the OC for the next 3+ years. He'll probably serve one, maybe two more seasons as the OC, and then I would imagine he'll retire. Orgeron knows this.

The person he brings in as the passing game coordinator now is going to be expected to move up and take full control over the offense in a year or two. Which is why I imagine it's taking a little bit longer than expected - we're not just hiring a PGC, but a future OC.

Curtis Johnson is not even a candidate for the job
Y’all might as well relax because nobody is going to be hired before signing day

What he said isn’t incorrect he just needs to word it differently.

I personally love all of the posters that feel comfortable riding solely with E “because he has the playbook now”. He’s not getting any younger and he’s not innovative (hence why we hired Brady).

He even admitted Brady called all of the plays in the red zone. Have you seen our numbers from this year?

Fact- he’s been an OC before and never had much success - look at last years offense.

Everything I stated is objectively correct. However I love E and want him on this staff in some capacity but O seriously needs to hire another bright young innovative offensive guy to be up there with E.

Typical ranter. LSU goes 15-0 wins the SEC, the national championship, wins all kinds of team and individual awards and has the best offensive season EVER in the history of college football and idiot TARD wants the OC reassigned.

I love this place. Dumb people are just so damn funny.

Correct!

Compare 2018 and 2019!!

God knows though, how hard Coach E is striving and trying!

I know his son was on a new tournament baseball team. Granted there are plenty of teams in Texas but maybe his family may have him thinking twice on leaving. Who knows but may be this is what he is dealing with.

I trust Coach O will find the guy.

Specifically point out where I said reassigned? He can still be OC but he needs help in the booth.

How was his Texas AM and Clemson offenses?

He didn’t even want the job, O wanted him because he wanted a safe and comfortable hire after the Canada debacle.

It’s not hard to fathom that he’s not a young innovative offensive guru.

I have confidence in E, I just would like to keep Munoz from the shear fact of the comments by Burrow saying he helped him so much on 3rd down, this is critical in so many ways. You extend drives, increase TOP and demoralize and aggravate the defense which can lead to mistakes and TD's for your offense.

You have to think Munoz went to O and asked him if he had a position here after being offered by Aranda. Whatever that answer was, now he's at Baylor.

Everyone has a number though. He'd come back but it's going to cost a lot more than it would've cost previously. Doubt he's moving back for equal money or a slight raise.
