Just an FYI for all the recently minted Jorge Munoz fans.

O said they’re taking their time and may start interviewing next week.

Interesting. Thanks for the update. Been hearing he's the guy, no he's Baylor's now, no he's the guy, no he is staying but not as PGC, back at Baylor, etc.

Did anyone ask about Curtis Johnson?

lol if you believe this.

O has a short list and he’s deciding. Smart of him to vet them and sleep on it though. No need to rush. Offensive recruits are done now

well Baylor officially announced him as their WR coach.

not that that makes him completely off limits. just pointing out that as of this moment, he does belong to Baylor.

Interested to see if he signed with a buyout. If he dead...he will not be the guy considering 2 weeks ago he was LSU owned.

It’s nice of you to try to play both sides on this Munoz thing so you can’t be wrong

Given his familiarity with the team and chemistry with the qb’s I would rather him than CuJo.

Positional coach buyouts are couch change money if any at all. Usually they have an easy out if it’s for a higher position

I hope Munoz is still an option. If for nothing else, he will bring continuity with the offense and familiarity with the players. He has the knowledge having been an OC before. Who knows, with the experience he's gained at LSU he could be a future OC when SE decides it's time to step down.

That really puts Munoz in a difficult spot. I would think accepting a job only to turn change your mind later would be frowned upon in the coaching world and would come back to haunt him.

Baylor being a private schools means they don’t have to make contract details public. So we may never actually know.

i agree.

Which is why i would have guessed that Munoz and O spoke about his future here before he accepted the Baylor gig. Either that a promotion/raise was coming or maybe encouragement to take the opportunity at Baylor.

I’m no insider or anything, just making assumptions based on my experiences with people changing jobs in the regular world.

I’m actually glad they’re taking their time to find the right guy and not rushing into it like some fans want

It worked for Kingsbury. Tho he moved way up from CFB OC to NFL HC.

I wonder if it was talked about with LSU and then with Aranda at Baylor that if LSU came calling he was going back. Probably not.

Yes, other than impatient fans, there is no reason to rush the hire. Offensive recruiting is over.

Not necessarily if its a step up. Aranda can find a decent WR coach that knows Texas in no time, they’ll be lining up to join that staff.

I still hope we keep Mangas
