but you are ignoring that Brady's offensive scheme is what allowed for the success. All of the personal coaching in the world is less important than a scheme that always puts the QB in a position to be successful.

I think you are ignoring all of the other significant changes that occurred. The starting WR's being sophomores, the QB having more than a month to work in the offense, the offensive line being the best in the country, etc, etc, etc.

If I need to post Kirby Smart's comments on the LSU offense and Joe Brady agreeing with it again I can.

Joe Brady did not invent a new offense in college football. LSU and Eaux had provided the fricking horses to make it work.

The guy I was directing my comments to specifically mentioned progressions and concepts within the offense and claimed Brady has zero to do with that.

That is what I was arguing against.

This is what I said:

quote:

Brady did not spend a single second with Burrow working on progressions, footwork, reading defenses, etc.

This is what I saw in walk-throughs:

The offense would run a play. Brady would be with the WRs making sure route depth was correct, routes were correct, etc. Ensminger was with Burrow going through his reads and progressions. Munoz was on the defensive side with a scout team simulating pressure, alignments and coverages.

So saying he didn't spend a second with Burrow was disingenuous. They all sat in the room game planning I'm sure and that's what made this offense great. The group of coaches putting it all together. Acting like Brady is some offensive savant all by his lonesome is fricking silly.

"Which is why i would have guessed that Munoz and O spoke about his future here before he accepted the Baylor gig."

The Baylor gig might have been part of a plan to get Munoz more money when the Tigers do get him back.

Walk throughs are such a small part of the week. That’s is such useless information

Straw man argument aside, it’s silly to downplay Brady’s role in the offense last year and in Burrows development.

You think this guy is going to uproot his family as a part of a plan to get more money?

They're the last line of defense the day before a game. If Brady was so instrumental in Burrow's development as a QB he would've been with him and Mickey Joseph would've been leading the WRs.

I'm not downplaying shite. I've already said numerous times that this season doesn't happen without Brady. But it also doesn't happen without Ensminger and Munoz. That group of coaches were elite this year. I don't get why it's so hard to give any credit whatsoever to Ensminger.

It’s a walk thru man. It’s just cleaning up the details. The game plan is set and implemented. You saw one frickin walk thru and you’re basing the staffs entire workload off of it, it’s so fricking stupid

It’s like a chef doing a taste check on what he’s cooked. The food is already done, that doesn’t mean the chef wasn’t the one cooking the beef beforehand

You very much are.

I’m not the one dealing in absolutes in this thread. That’s you. I give credit to the entire staff. That’s why I want Munoz back and have as much continuity as possible.

You’re the one wishing Brady flames out at Carolina and claiming he wasn’t instrumental in Burrows success.

Show us his stats when he was OC at Texas AM and Clemson

This won't go the way you want it to go.

When Ensminger was the PGC at Georgia and the OC at Texas A&M, he was the hottest name in offense in the country. I remember wanting him at LSU in a bad way, but we sucked so bad at the time.

His QBs at Georgia, Texas A&M and Clemson were the leading passers in their school's history.

Clemson was bad as a team and head coach Tommy West got fired, along with his whole staff in 1998.

quote:

After graduating from Marietta, Eric Zeier attended the University of Georgia. Zeier was one of the first notable high school football players to graduate ahead of his class so as to attend his college early and join the football team for spring practices, enrolling in January 1991.[1] At Georgia, he compiled a 26-14-1 record as a starter. He made his debut as a Bulldog on October 5, 1991 against the Clemson Tigers, a game Georgia won 27-12. Zeier went on to start the final seven games of his freshman season and started every game during his final three seasons at Georgia. His tenure included a 4-0 record against Georgia Tech, a victory in the 1991 Independence Bowl over Arkansas, and a victory in the 1993 Citrus Bowl over Ohio State.

Zeier finished his college career with 67 school records and 18 Southeastern Conference records. He became the SEC's all-time passing leader with 11,153 yards—a record which has been surpassed only by Peyton Manning and UGA's own David Greene and Aaron Murray. In 1993, his junior season, Zeier threw for 544 yards against Southern Miss, a school record. In 1994, Zeier was named the American Football Coaches Association First-team All-American quarterback. Over his four years at Georgia, Zeier completed 877 of 1461 attempts for 11,153 yards, 67 touchdowns, and 37 interceptions.

quote:

Corey Pullig never relinquished the starting job, setting a school record with 40 consecutive starts. While quarterback, Texas A&M had, at the time, the longest active home game winning streak in the NCAA.

Pullig finished his career with a 33-6-1 mark as a starter, the most wins for any quarterback in Texas A&M history. He also passed for a school record 6,888 yards (broken by Reggie McNeal in 2005). Texas A&M posted ten or eleven wins per season while Pullig was quarterback.

Texas A&M won the Southwest Conference championships in 1992 and 1993. In 1994, Texas A&M ranked first in the Southwest Conference but was unable to qualify for the Southwest Conference championship due to being on probation from the NCAA.

quote:

Nealon Greene left Clemson in 1997 as the program’s career leader in passing yards and passing touchdowns, but now ranks sixth in each after the talent behind him took off. Like Dantzler, Greene’s team wasn’t one of the best in Clemson history, but Greene himself was. Greene threw 34 touchdown passes from 1994 until 1997 with 5,719 yards. He then went on to play professionally from 1998 until 2005 in the Canadian Football League. Greene’s success against South Carolina was opposite of the norm: he never lost to the Gamecocks in Columbia, but he never won at Clemson.
