Welcome to the real world where you get punished when you do the wrong thing. Follow the rules until you can change them.
Stop acting like he hasn’t been punished for 13 games already.
We get it, he made a mistake.
Punishment is made for rehabilitation and perhaps redemption.
In this case, the only thing we’re arguing is the severity of the punishment.
If there is going to be punishment for breaking rules or conduct unbecoming, then let them be consistent.
The NCAA went well over board in this instance.
At no point did the time match the crime.
26 game suspension for attempting to cheat a Urine test is excessive. Punishable, yes, but overkill in the opinion of many.
The point is, the lesson has been learned. He’s been punished for 13 games! There’s no reason not to try to prove he’s rehabilitated and doesn’t need 26 games.
Or what else is the punishment for in the first place, correct?
Or is he only rehabilitated at the 26 games served? I don’t think that’s for us to decide, but in an opinion, and from the sound of Fulton he’s already learned the lesson, which was the point of the punishment.
Free the kid and let him live his life. Everyone deserves a chance at redemption if they are truly reformed. I believe he is.
ETA : even criminals get off early for good behavior and reforming in prison. He cheated on a urine test, and ended up passing it anyway. Let’s get serious here.

I think they tried and now it is time to accept it. LSU will need him next season.

Why is he directing this at the compliance dept?

Is he staying in school? I wouldn't blame him if he said "frick the NCAA" and went to the CFL.

Finishing a degree and playing a year at LSU, a school known for developing DB’s, is his best bet to make it to the NFL.

Hopefully the compliance department can do something right for once and would love to see Scott van pelt put the NCAA on blast on sports center.
The compliance department wouldn't do that.
That would be the PR department, or the athletic department who is scheming to create a narrative in its best interest if the university PR department isn't on board.
But, it will never be the compliance department.

almost everyone feels the punishment is overkill.
You everyone on Tigerdroppings? Shocking
You know what "almost" means? Shocking.
Also, if you could read, I would suggest you go read as many articles as you could on the issue that have nothing to do with Tigerdroppings and see how many neutral observers also feel the punishment is overly harsh.

Just sign him up for grad school and he gets an extra year of eligibility as a grad student, plus free post-grad education.

Everyone’s quick to shout “he’s not innocent!”, but he tried to cheat a test the NCAA doesn’t give and passed the one they do!
It’d be like bringing a cheat sheet for a world history test into a calculus exam, passing the calculus test, then being expelled from school because the professor saw some history facts written on your arm.

He's not some kind of innocent victim. This is not a good look, nor is it a very sympathetic cause, and I'm embarrassed for those who can't take off their purple and gold glasses.
NCAA isn't consistent in punishments, that's the issue here.

Stfu jordy. You’ve done enough damage to this program.

Oh my goodness. He didn't even fail the test.
He made a stupid decision as a freshman, but much less gets way less penalty.
This is all about the language of the rule and the ridiculous penalty.
He would have been better off to just fail the test. I just hope others learn from this crap.
I feel like it should be a year for tampering if you actually pass the test.. there is no reason for two years if he actually wasn't even cheating via performance enhancers. Whatever the penalty is for what he was afraid of getting busted for, weed? Should be more of an appropriate time served or as simple as giving him a year for the tampering and that's that..

Jordy looks like a moron in that tweet

I haven’t seen any LSU fan say he didn’t deserve to be punished but the punishment needs to be fair. One year suspension is more than fair.
Exactly they punished him for cheating one year. Then for failing a test, one year. Only problem is he was actually clean and never tested hot. SO he should have only been suspended for one year instead of two.

You're right. But he violated a rule. If you had to pass a drug test for a job and this happened, you either wouldn't get the job or you'd be fired the minute they found out. Welcome to the real world where you get punished when you do the wrong thing. Follow the rules until you can change them.
Bad comparison. This isn’t equivalent to someone not getting a job this is the death penalty for a kid’s football career
