Jordy Culotta said if Joe Brady would have stayed at LSU, Cregg would have been fired

Jordy said on his show that if Brady would have stayed at LSU and not gone to Carolina, letting James Cregg go would have been the first thing he would have done. He said that Brady told coach O, and the LSU administration that during his negotiations. He said that Brady was not impressed with his fundamentals and he didn’t like the way he coached. How can Joe Brady see that Cregg was garbage but Coach O never wanted to make the move to find a better online coach?

All I have to say is I’m glad O didn’t rush an OL hire in 2020 like he did with pelini and scott Big L. Despite the crappy timing, this may prove a better situation if we can get a guy we like

You talking about the guy that decided the key to opening up the offense was making Les Miles's TE coach the OC.

And that isnt really a negative statement, thats just kinda the facts. He wont be able to see if someone is coaching well or not, he will simply hire and fire based on results because that is what he can evaluate. Which is likely why we sometimes have bad fit hires under him

Probably because after Brady left it wasn't a priority to fire a guy who had just won the nation's best position group award for his unit at that point.
This isnt me defending Cregg either, but let's not forget his unit got the Joe Moore award that season so it was never going to be a high likelihood he was being canned right after that...Brady staying might have been the only potential way because they liked him so much.

Brady didn’t have that kind of power
After 2019 are you kidding me???
If Brady said it’s me or Cregg?
Yeah, he had that power if he stayed.

His recruiting lagged way behind the other assistant coaches as well.

In his defense, the offense did open up after E was promoted due to the shite hiring of Matt "Air

Pretty obvious why Brady could see that Cregg was lacking but coach O couldn’t: Joe Brady knows the nuances of offensive football while O clearly does not.

Then I’m glad Brady left Bc O is an elite head coach and has hired brilliantly
Nobody and I mean NOBODY would argue that

Did it?
In 2018 we scored 48 TDs 43 in regulation.
In 2017 we scored 44 TDs
In 2018 we averaged 401.1 YPG
In 2017 we averaged 411.1 YPG.
The numbers in 2018 dont show how bad we were. We had an elite kicker. And we had 7 OT that’s spike up our scoring numbers.
It’s not that Canada didn’t need to go, it’s that as was not any better, maybe a little worse.

Gregg didn’t fit the spread especially in the run game. LSU was gashing people in the air but couldn’t run the ball.
Look how they ran the ball the first 5 games compared to the rest of the year. I bet Brady took it over from there. That’s when Clyde really took off

Without knowing much of what goes on behind the scenes, y’all motherfrickers sure do reach really hard to shite on O
Y’all will argue with what I’m saying because the majority of this board doesn’t like O. But the fact remains, I’m correct with my assessment

There was an article about how we completely
Changed our blocking scheme after I think the Vandy game, and pretty much everyone’s YPC went up a yard or so.
Found it:

The Joe Moore award had nothing to do with Cregg’s coaching. It was because of Burrow’s great pocket awareness and ability to use his legs combined with Brady’s quick passing game. This firing was long overdue and should have never happened in the first place but because he was one of O’s guys and he coached in the NFL which we all know gets O hard.

Thought the plan was for Brady to be OC and lined up a big pay raise to keep him. That was all before Panthers called.
