Watching last night, I think Jontre could have been a better QB than Max this year had he been given the opportunity to practice that position last spring. He has a pretty decent arm and his escapability is obvious. O, what could have been. We might have had Lamar Jackson on our hands and didn’t know it.

We all know he certainly was not worse.

I was impressed with his deep ball.

We will never know, but I do not think he would have been a better QB.

Jontre has become the new Russell Shepard.

It was against Kansas State. I'm not saying if he was put at the QB position from day one that he wouldn't have been good but the metric can't be measured with one game against an opponent like Kansas State.

How was he recruited? He was obviously a QB with astronomical numbers in HS. What were the thoughts on him playing QB in the SEC when he came into the program?

Dawg, if he were Lamar we would’ve seen a run of longer than 16 yards.

But I only say that to alleviate your concerns that we wasted an all-time great ballcarrier in the middle of the receiver depth chart Jontre deserves nothing but credit for sticking his career out and making some fun memories out of such a bleak situation.

Max (Min) set the bar so low.

I think Kirklan would’ve been better this year.

Forget that.

I hope he plays every snap, doesn’t improve, and leads them to 8-4 overall with an absolute bludgeoning by LSU each year.

I feel sorry for the people that judge a player based on something they don’t understand.

This board LOVES to throw stones and pile on. I don’t remember seeing the rant so bloodthirsty before this season.

Bruh! He threw for 2800+ yards w/ 27 TDs and only 6 INTs. Was he the second coming of Joe Burrow? Absolutely not, but get a grip. I think that was the 3rd or 4th best passing season in school history

People are still emotional.

The over the top reactions will fade throughout the offseason and people will find their brains again.

Maybe. But the dude threw 2 tds against a decent team with practically zero practice at qb since HS.

I think we would’ve gotten tired of him real quick. Last night we all had a great deal of patience for him, and rightfully so. But a full season would’ve been challenging to watch.
