Well you left out last year's loss total.

It was still double digits.

NCSOS

2015-2016: 206 12th in SEC
2014-2015: 182 12th in SEC
2013-2014: 186 10th in SEC
2012-2013: 226 10th in SEC

When you play a shitty OOC schedule in a weak league, your 20 wins dont mean jack. Absolutely no reason for him to continually have well into double digit loss seasons with this crap.

He's a terrible in game coach, terrible teacher of fundamentals, the sec is a terrible conference and we are barely over .500 (.566 actually) in his 4 yrs, which was his 12 year avg at north Texas and in 16 yrs as a head coach has never won a ncaa tournament game

It's hard to fathom just how poorly LSU played this year. I was pulling hard for the Tigers simply because I wanted to see Simmons in the tournament. The SEC was not very strong this year, so with Simmons and Blakeney, they should have cruised to 20 wins. Quarterman is a good talent, but his lack of progress reflects on the coaching staff. I'm not usually a "FIRE THE COACH!" kinda guy, but damn...this season was awful, and good coaches have been fired for less. Johnny Jones had talent that most coaches can only dream about, and he squandered it. Is that the person who should lead this program going forward? This should have been a dream season, but it was a complete nightmare.

Johnny is the same coach he was at UNT

trying to involve the offense around one player (Simmons),

Didn't do enough of this actually

Oh goody, a new recruit is going to save us. Gee, where have we heard this before

bench that was 2 deep for most of the year (more depth next season), injuries, lack of effort down

But...he can recruit (year 4 with "no depth" LOL)

lack of effort down the stretch (

If only coaches were empowered to coax effort (or should i say "great energy") from their players

bad luck that caused the team to be put in this siutation

Bruh

. There was no flow with the offense when you have Simmons handling the ball at the top of the key.

or because the other four guys have absofrickinglute zero idea what to do and how to fo it. November-March. No improvement

He's gonna shoot for a 16-17 record?

(Has this joke been made 1000 times in this thread already?)

About 5 but still, that'd probably put us in prime position to politely decline a CBI bid

How? He hired very good asst coaches and what has that gotten us. Johnny isnt going to drastically improve as a coach in one season after 20 years.

quote:

lack of PG play (Mays coming in)

From a former PG. Absolutely inexcusable. Mays is finally the guy I think that LSU has been needing for quite some time. I do think he would develop better under a different coach though.

quote:

a bench that was 2 deep for most of the year (more depth next season)

And does not change, actually gets worse, at our weakest position. He brought in one guy over 6'6. So we have Victor, an unproven Reath, then a bench full Bigs that wouldnt make rosters at 13/14 other SEC schools.

injuries

Everyone has it. Not an excuse.

quote:

lack of effort down the stretch (@Tenn & A&M

Goes back to coaching and recruiting.

quote:

bad luck that caused the team to be put in this siutation

quote:

To say it all comes on Jones is being one-sided and not looking at the whole picture.

Who does the recruiting and choosing the talent/players? Who develops them? Who encourages them and motivates them? Who conditions them? Who molds these young men? Who creates chemistry and a sense of teamwork? Who is ultimately responsible for the overall performance of the LSU Men's Basketball team? The coach, end of story.

You have Hornsby and Blakeney(only two guys who consistently gave fricks) calling people out, questioning leadership. Where does all that start? Hint: not at the bottom.

These people defending Jones must work for the state where you can pretty much jack off all day and still collect a paycheck, which is considerably more than what Jones actually does during a game.

Jacking it during a game would require too much effort and removing his hands from his hips. It's a non-starter.

Whenever coaches look completely lost, whenever players look like they don't give a shite, you have lost me. I feel I need to voice this opinion because I love LSU. LSU speaks money. They don't give a shite what we say on Tigerdroppings or on radio shows. So maybe if they start seeing empty seats, they'll finally do something about it.

I wish we could stage a non-renewal protest.
Also I have a feeling we're gonna play most of the swac and southland teams next year ala South Carolina. Then the pampers will come in here and talk about what's great record we have
