Wow. LSU's women's basketball coach was a sexier hire than its men's basketball coach.

Will Jones actually be making less than Caldwell?

And people say Alleva doesn't read this board. Maybe he should start. If les miles leaves we may wind up with Hudspeth. But hey, at least he knows the state.

I'm not overwhelmed by the hire, but I'll support Johnny Jones & LSU basketball 100%.

Well we all know what it takes to win in college sports and that's the players.. He'll lock down Louisiana and if we do that we'll be better ofF then we have the past few years..

We would have a competitive team if LA talent comes to BR, regardless of coach

Ill reserve judgement until mid way through next season, but this is EXTREMELY underwhelming. It really seems like LSU is essentially just writing off the mens basketball program.

I think a year like this years team is about what to expect. I could see us being a perennial NIT team if that satisfies you.

Why do teams who have much more in-state talent (Ohio, Kentucky, Kansas) recruit nationally?

We'll be fine in 2 or 3 years, the team just needs depth and a better athlete from top to bottom.

thats exactly right.

LSU has proven that they really truly dgaf about mens basketball.

The only hope we had was for alleva to make a homerun hire and that the hire would be able to get some legit first round nba talent to come play here.

that aint happnin' now though.

Maybe we can go deep in the NIT consistently.
