i didn't say he was going to be a star or anything

guys who understand the game, have good size, decent athleticism, can dribble, and can pass find roster spots in the NBA

TQ wull play 10 yrs in the nba. Once he becomes consistent on defense he will be better than temple.

+1. I'm fine with people criticizing his two missed free throws down the stretch, too, but it also needs to be acknowledged that he was awesome other than that tonight. He ran the offense, got some huge boards when LSU was struggling, and played fantastic defense.

I'm concerned about how LSU is going to fit so many talented backcourt guys together next year. Quarterman has to be getting a lot of PG minutes. If Newman comes, you have TQ, Patterson, Newman, Blakeney, Hornsby, and Gray as 1-3. Definitely have real depth there.

Most of our fans on this site are thick in the skull. TQ is a more efficient GT once he finds his D game.

Temple is my favorite LSU player and I agree with all of this. He is a very good defender although not Temple, but is better at everything else at this stage. He has a great IQ out there, too.

The team doesn't consistently execute fundamental basketball. as a coach, if my players did what this team does, I would spend entire practices dedicated to the little things.

Mickey essentially cost us the last 8 points.

What a choke
If you're going to throw blame at a player, I hate to say this but-

Hornsby was way off this game. Basically his only meaningful play was a 3 pt shot off the glass. I don't think he even wanted the ball late, when he'd have been a good option to get to the FT line.

With no guard play that is the worst offense they could play.

The players were more at fault than Jones, but I believe Martin didn't have one shot attempt after his made free throws with exactly 5 minutes left in the game. I believe we scored one point after that. He also made our last FG with about 10 & 1/2 minutes left.

I'm sorry, but that is poor coaching. Plays should have been designed for Martin and Martin alone inside of five minutes because he was at another level at times tonight and he could actually make some of his free throws if fouled. NO-BRAINER.

Well put.

It was like watching kids misbehave at a restaurant. Table manners are taught at home so that when you go out in public it all falls into place. Our players abominable fundamental play was painful evidence that their practices lacked dedication to the little things. These little things (coaching) or the keys to success.

Lack of fundamentals till the end lost the game. Think I'll respond to the "Letter from Joe Alleva". Can't wait to hear the spin he puts on this one, he can be very creative.
