Neither of those guys provided experience.

think we are shallow at WR take a look at DB
We have Peterson and Clairborne starting with Brooks, Taylor and Calhoun backing them up. Three of those guys are Juniors with playing/starting experience. Clairborne will be starting as a true Sophomore in front of 2 other older players with experience so he must be damn good. The only guy at CB without any game experience is Calhoun who was a redshirt last year.

At safety we also have 3 guys with playing experience in Eugene, Bryant and Hatcher. We also have Loston who is another phenom that will likely play in front of some of the older players.

In all I think we have 8 very good players with game experience to work into the defensive backfield plus another 3-4 young guys that we don't know much about. I don't think you can have much more depth than that with the 85 scolly limit.

Though I thought Parsons could've developed into a solid player and i hate to see these types of things happen(whether really medical or not is not my place to judge),we have to get used to the practice of "losing/cutting ties"with players that aren't going to help the team on the field.Too much pressure for the coaches to get as many helpful players that can contibute on the roster. It's becoming a common practice throughout the SEC(even though Bama is the king and gets all the pub for it ,every school does it except maybe vandy). There are another 3-4 guys that could/should get the axe as well.I won't name them because they are Tigers. We have to make room for the kids coming in that will have a chance to show their stuff. Also need spots for this upcoming class.Parson's is the only 1 of the 3 that is maybe questionable. It seems as though Miles was high on him so his medical issue is probably legit imo.

point being that as great as he is he contributed very little.

catches alone are a bad way to judge how much experience Randle got last year.

Just bc they didn't throw him the ball or it was broken up or dropped doesn't mean he didn;t valuable experience.

Being in the huddle, hearing the adjustments at the LOS, running routes, running them against actual opposing players, etc etc all very valuable experience for a WR.

while I agree there's cause for concern I wouldn't base all of my fear off of coach speak

WR depth is not close to our biggest issue heading into the season.

Really thought parsons would help out at fb this year... He did mention he had shoulder problems and bone spurs in his neck.

If there was an injury I think DP would slide over and run at WR again and Clement or whoever was the best TE would step up.

Do guys who leave the team for medical reasons get to keep their scholarships?

they can. they also don't count against the 85-man total, as long as they don't resume their playing career.

Hence the win-win situation for the team and players who can't even realistically entertain the dream of making an NFL roster.

Not everything is fixable or worth the risk of re-injury/brain damage.

Good thing Dr's make those calls.

Shoulder injury could just be the start, he also has some lower neck injuries. JW has had MANY "documented" concussions. He needed to hang it up..great guy and Hard competitor though. He's thinking about staying as an "assistant coach"

you can toss that WR listing out the window. Kid is starting opposite Peterson

Was told by a former tiger who played corner in the pros that if claiborne had played corner as long as Peterson, claiborne would be head and shoulders better than pp. He think they're just scratching the surface with mc.

I know its not big news but still cool to hear it from someone who knows their stuff!

if LSU had a guy like that coming in your point my be more realistic

and youre saying this based on stars ..fact is that no one on this board knows the impact that one of those kids can make..and its not like they're being asked to be the featured wr..they'll basically come in and run protection routes and block....i wouldnt think its something that cant be done a fr wr

BTaylor is a starter at Safety. So that makes 4. St.Julien will see time as backup CB.
