You don’t understand. Once the knee is structurally sound and has gone through all the thorough testing, it’s just a matter of whether they are mentally able to trust it and go 100%. It’s not that it needs to heal more. That’s the fastest I’ve ever seen Emery and he was breaking tackles left and right. He showed no signs of not being mentally ready.

This really breaks my heart for John. I don’t know that I’ll pull harder for any LSU player post football career than him. I pray for him overall, but mostly his immediate emotional health. I cannot imagine how devastating this must be for him.

But cheers to him for battling through and overcoming so much adversity. He could have given up on school and gone to the NFL after ‘21, could have transferred after ‘21, ‘22, in the portal/NIL era, and could have just given up on football after that heartbreaking injury at the end of last year. But this dude kept coming back and coming back to LSU and is leaving with a college degree and at least a handful of graduate school credits. Here’s to all he gave and to incredibly successful future that I desperately hope awaits him.

Maybe we agree to disagree. What I saw was a very tentative gait on him. He ran as hard as ever and had great short-term acceleration, but when he broke free, he had limited speed.

Also, see the link from earlier in this thread, he limped off the field 3 weeks ago. He was clearly not yet ready for a full load.

It is never a yes/no thing, once cleared, you have to get back in football shape.

Such a terrible break for Emery. He worked so hard to get back from last year and now this. Hope he has a quick recovery.

Dude played a football game when Obama was president and Lamar Jackson had yet to win the Heisman.

He looked good too. Looked to be in great shape compared to last year. I don't know if his Marshawn Lynch running style of 120% effort/bruteness is what causes these injuries.

Feel terrible for him. He ran hard in the game. Was finally ready for a big year. Sad.

Here's to hoping he comes back one more time as a full on heisman candidate and having the comeback of all time!

Literally giving his all to this ball club.

Minor setback, major comeback John.
