Anyone notice on the highlight videos when Joe is coming off the field pointing to his ring finger and O hugs him around the chest area how he appears to grimace in pain? Might just be a smile, but looked like he was in some pain. Pretty awesome he played through all that pain. It’s been 7 days and still can’t stop watching the game highlights over and over again.

Torn cartilage in his ribs yet he continued to drop dimes and use his legs. Tough. As. Mother. fricking. Nails.

He’s gonna be a damn good pro.

I’m naming my kid Joe.

Joe Burrow would have had to have been knocked out to sit out that game.

Joe's great and we'll never see another like him. But all you slobbin his knob over toughness have no idea what the linemen or LBs deal with on a play by play basis.

I have been impressed all year how he doesn't do the "i'm down" protective slide when forced to run. (all except in the NC game - he did go down easily a couple of times in that one) Dude struggled for every yard.

But this torn cartilage thing brought a whole new level of respect - he is a first round cinch to get big $$$ - yet he kept playing while in obvious pain. At that moment I don't think anyone knew if it was torn cartilage or cracked rib. Either way - must have been painful as hell and the grit play on was impressive. (may well not have been well advised for his financial future - but sure as hell demonstrated his dedication to the mission at hand.)

I watched the replay last night and noticed after throwing the TD to Moss O hugged Joe and patted him around the ribs and Joe noticeably winced.

We all know that the down linemen and LBs take huge hits all the time.

Difference is that THAT is part of their job description and barring something illegal, they don't get hit in ways they are not trained to absorb. .

GBs are not expected to get blindsided in the ribs in a stretched posture.

My MIL said during an interview Joe started to say he "got a shot" of something at halftime. I would guess he got toradol or something. Regardless, dude fricking balled out hurt or not.

Also, Joe getting hurt was a reccuring nightmare for me leading up to the game. I remembered Colt McCoy going out in 09 and thinking oh boy. When JB got the horse collar against TAMu everyone gasped.

I will say I hope he slides in the nfl

I don’t wanna see my boy with bad CTE or just ending his career early

But loved his unwillingness to go down in college

WTF...And you know what QBs have to deal with? Trying getting lit up while completely unprotected throwing a pass. Dude had a rib injury and still was throwing (would hurt like hell) and running and taking hits

ETA...I’m aware he tore rib cartilage on that pass to Moss. Just didn’t realize how bad it was until watching replays because watching game live it was hard to tell he was even hurt at all.
