Then it must be thoughts and prayers.

I mean, it's quite possible that the far better scheme on offense is helping out the offensive line. Last year, on the rare pass play, it was often slow-developing routes with play-action that forced the line to hold their blocks way too long to be consistently effective.

I agree that the offensive line is playing better.

I agree that drops are better. Getting better WR play.

I agree that Joe getting more time to mesh with the team helps.

I completely disagree with the thought that these 3 things alone are making as large of an improvement as we've seen.

I completely disagree that the run game is any better. It's worse.

I'll say that the jump we made from no Brady to Brady is pretty obvious considering the number of guys that played both years.

Next year we will have a new starting QB, so expecting no drop off is foolish.

I really don't see how anyone can make an argument against Brady being the catalyst for what we get to watch right now.

Sigh

Offensive lines suddenly "improve" when they don't have to block for 4 seconds and when the play calling isn't completely predictable

this, defenses haven't had to guess about us for years, now that we're putting a lot on tape, they'll have something to plan for but if our athletes are good enough it won't matter too much

Total Offense 2018 #69 in the Nation
Total Offense 2019 #1 in the Nation

If you think O line play and WR drops get you from #69 to #1 I don't know what else can be said.

OMG, I just can't even try to prove the OP wrong. Its a total waste of my time. Dude, you didn't even know it was his playbook, his teaching the WR's routes and how to catch the ball, His teaching the RB where to block and who to block, where to go out for passes , etc, etc, The offensive line hasn't improved that much at all. Those long 4-5 second routes our WR's were running last year was putting the offensive line in a precarious position. Joe Brady has totally made this offense. Credit also to Coach O for letting a very young 29 year old come in and take over the offense,(hmmmmm Passing offense) that's a joke also. He has taken over the whole offense.

If we finish the season ranked #1, your point will be well made.

Let’s play Auburn, MSU, UF, Alabama and the rest of the SEC and see where we end up before printing the #1 offense shirts

231 Total points score in first 4 games most in the SEC History.

Yah, it wasn't against the greatest team defenses but neither was the previous record holders of this title.
This team is making HISTORY right before your eyes with Joe Brady's offense.

You really need to enjoy these moments !!

I don’t disagree with those things playing a big part. But I think those are secondary to the biggest factor, which is the route concepts. Brady is definitely the biggest factor here. Offensive line has definitely improved, as have our WR hands. That last part may also have something to do with Brady. Was he the one who challenged them to catch 10,000 balls during the summer?

The offensive line has improved, yeah, but they are still a problem and work in progress. They still pass protect "bad" with Burrow still having to avoid opposing teams pass rush, and the run blocking has just been "okay", brah, nothing special. Edwards-Helaire's running with his elusiveness has been great in avoiding tackles where he could have or should have been hit behind the line of scrimmage a lot of times. So, I would give them a C+ so for up from the F of last season. They have a lot room for improvement!
