No way aleva makes a better hire imo. His track record isn't that good.. Seems like everyone forgot before last season with the youth and inexperience at qb that a 3 loss season was almost w given. Then we went 7-0 and the hype changed. 2016 was suppose to be the year we contended.

Alleva won't be in control of the hiring of a new head football coach, and he wasn't last November.

I hope you are right. And I hope King Alexander isn't a part of it either

They won't be in control, big money TAF men will, Joe and F***King just have to sign where they're told. JBE needs to stay out of it next time too.

Night is always darkest before the dawn. Les knows he has to deliver, the players know they have to deliver for Les, we had a tremendous offseason. There are clear expectations. I think it woke everyone in the program up. Also Alleva knows now that shady deals won't cut it at LSU, and he knows that he is also on a short leash after the fiasco.

If they deliver this year then November was very good especially going forward.

it wasn't for you good sir. If people didn't like Alleva before last November they certainly don't now. Staging a coup against your beloved yet beleaguered head coach and then FAILING said coup did not cast a favorable light on you Joe.

tread lightly.

Last November, Miles failed spectacularly on the field. Alleva failed spectacularly off of it. If something good came out of those bad things, that's great, but they happened. The only use of talking of them now is if you are using them as teaching moments and learning from them.
Saying the whole thing was "good" because it cleared air (that never should have been unclear in the first place) is self-serving nonsense.

Any good manager would know to keep internal affairs internal. The leaked public information and Alleva's refusal to give any statement supporting his staff in the face of reports directly from members of the Board was absolutely amateurish. A good CEO knows how to put a lid on this kind of management shake-up until all the cards are in place.

I roasted Alleva for both this and the embarrassment that was the Chavis lawsuit. The man seems to have no understanding of PR.

Still, fair is fair, I didn't see this coming. A good manager can change course when he realizes something isn't working. The undermining of Miles has seemingly stopped, and been replaced with necessary support and clear expectations. I've said it before, in modern CFB you either have to support your coach 100% or fire him, you don't tip toe into #1 recruiting classes and championships. Part of Joe's job is to convey that to boosters and other administrators, and on the surface it seems like he's done that. I think his comments are pointed mostly at himself, he has certainly had an attitude adjustment since November and the program is better for it.

Joe is in way over his head. He should be back in a small-time school like ULL or Tulsa.

Yeah Let's lose 3 games every November and say it's been great???

Aleva should be fired ASAP! He is clearly stupid!
