Take away the the UF game and UT game last year because Lee won those.

Yeah, if we forget bout the 100 yds rushing with a TD in the Vol game and the 150 yds O and 2 TDs in the Flor game.

dude just stop.. Jlee was a much bigger factor in the tenn and fla games as qb than JJ and everyone accepts this besides you and two or three others on this board.

Unbelievable. it seems to me that most of us really can't stand to him. I very rarely talk to anyone who can even be optimistic about him. Most of the guys in circles that I run in Hate him. JJ is not smooth, he doesn't have good field presence and it doesn't seem like guys want to play for him. I hope he Ends up with the most wins because I want us to win.

JJ cheered for Lee when Lee was in. JJ is a pretty stoic guy and doesn't show a whole lot of emotion most of the time, but I distinctly remember a JL touchdown where JJ was estatic. I think it was Florida.

eta
he's not estatic here, but at :20 you can see him walking up to JL to congratulate him. I don't get where the whole pouty thing came from

I think they mistake when JJ is mad at himself that he is mad atg Lee. You could also take from his comments at the SEC media days that some of that was probably frustration towards the play calling. But I agree he has shown plenty of times that he supports Lee when he is in there.

I know how you feel cause I feel the same way after reading some of your post.

Hey, if you and others want to overlook 7 pts LSU got in a game they won by 2, knock yourself out.

The Vol game after our 1st score till our last drive was pretty much a snoozer and I don't care who played QB.

JL earned his papers in the Gator game and I'm dang glad he hung in there and remained at LSU

That doesn't mean the 2 TDs JJ helped us get didn't play a important role in our win as well.

Lighten up, Francis.

They are all LSU guys and they all helped us have a win 11 and finish at # 8.

Why wasn't JJ the one on the last play of the UF game?

Why wasn't JJ the one in on 4th and 14 against UT?

Which game was it that JJ lead a scoring drive and immediately went to the sideline and talked shite to Lee? You can tell because Lee gives him a WTF? look and waves him out of his face.

And JJ handed UF 7 points with his near pick 6 that was later trucked in for a TD on a 17 yard drive.

He also threw 2 more INTs against UT that LSU got lucky to be bailed out of with missed scores by UT.

So forgive us for not letting ONE play against Tennessee mean he earned anything that game.

What he "earned" was 83 yds and a TD. One of 2 TDs LSU "earned" all day. A TD that without, would have made our final drive meaningless.

I'm not knocking JL. He played well in the final drive and without his efforts the 1st TD might have been meaningless as well.

I'm just saying that trying to find a QB winner in the Vol, a game we scored our TDs on the 1st and last plays of the game and did pretty much nothing in between, is like spitting in the wind, but each to our own.

JJ got the 1st TD. Good for him. He made a good run, and the UT safety took one of the worst angles I've ever seen in football in my life. He did earn it though.

Fact is without JL in those games, LSU doesn't win. That is people's point. No one is saying JL single-handedly won the UT game, but it's almost assuredly a "L" without him saving JJ's arse.

Timing is the difference maker.Stats look dandy but.T here are critical moments that games hinge on. JJ and JL had them; JJ just had more. JL just couldn't prove he could play the bulk of the game and keep it winable to.Special teams did good for the most part, and most valuable.
But what would the record be without JJ.U think you are miserable now.LSU would be demoralize.

Yes, because it shows how clueless he is. When he comes off one of his patented games of <100 yards passing saying he thinks he played pretty good, it certainly offers one glaring reason as to why we have seen zero improvement. If he was admitting that he sucked and was going to get to work and try to get better, I wouldn't be so down on him. And I don't just blame him-someone has to be pumping sunshine up his backside providing verification (I believe to protect a VERY fragile ego), which manifests itself in starting him every game, even after the ones last year where JL clearly ran the offense better. If he gets the most wins as a starting QB, there will have to be an asterisk beside it, parenthetically noting the ones that we won in spite of his substandard play, and the ones that were really won by JL and PP.

this.....didnt put much effort into it, but i can't recall 1 game where JJ "won" it for us....I can, however, recall several where he "lost/was bailed out by the defense or other playmakers" it for us

Yes, I dislike JJ with a passion

bottom line, neither JJ or JL is a real SEC caliber QB by themselves. Games have been won by both of them at times, and in spite of both of them at times. The whole rest of the team is what really made the difference.

While i agree with you somewhat, but you really have no idea. Sr qb he is a leader. Unless you can link me to where players and coaches say otherwise i would rather not see this crap posted.

Now to the op. Its a team game and lsu with JJ at qb has won a lit of games, and against some good teams. Lets just hope the team can put it all together this year. If the offense sucks one game the d and st can back em up. Same with your o, you need them to back you up like against ole miss last season.

i am pulling for him too. i just don't like how he infers that he's a good qb (most wins in lsu history). it's kinda like a kid who brags about how much stuff he has because his parents are rich. the kid had nothing to do with it. jj's got wins because lsu is rich, not because he made them that way.

I'm not knocking JL or any of his efforts in any games, but your referenced quote is conjecture and not fact.

What's fact is that JJ is/has been the starter in 20 games that LSU has gone on to win. Now, did he win any of those games by himself? Of course not, but he started and played t/o the games and hence get the credit as the starting/winning QB. That's just the way it is and always has been.

We can try to discredit those wins or be little his efforts in them all we want, but they will remain in his total...just like the L's do.

I hope JJ becomes the starting LSU QB with the most wins in our history cause that means we gonna have another fine year and I don't care who does what to win as long as LSU gets the win.
