Just proves QB's don't win games. Honestly, a QB's win/loss record is a silly stat and no more valid than a right tackle's win/loss record as a starter.

Wins and loses are team, and not individual, related.

Not at all. He is likely the starting QB for an NC contender team.

Do you prefer him to say "It is likely that I will be the winningest QB in Tiger history, but it has nothing to do with me. I am the weakest part of the team."

The only reason that teams get a shot at the NCG is their BCS ranking. That ranking is somewhat dependant on preseason projections. He should at every chance project confidence in his abilities. If he doesn't, then he should be on the bench.

I disagree with this. Not saying the RT isn't an important part to a TEAM, But The QB touches the ball every offensive play. The QB is a more important player than anyone on offense. BUT I agree that its a team game and its mind-boggling that JJ could have the most wins as an LSU QB.

Last or second to last in passing in the sec, and ranked in the 100's in total offense two years running.

You're right, JJ is the man. He is one of the greatest to ever play the position. The guy just wins.

Your point, as it relates to the offense originating with the QB, is valid. No argument with the assertion. I'm not certain if that makes him the most important player or simply the most utilitarian essential player but that's for another discussion.

Mind boggling sums it up well

No way. You almost have to invoke a last 15 year in this case in order to keep the best 5 a legitimate BEST five. Herb Tyler at #5.

Yall need to stop this rt now. Plenty of times lee came in and faltered. The wholeteam played like crap against utenn. We use jj to run te ball. Weused lee when we neded a big play in the passing game. He has made a whopping 3 plays last year with his arm. Like ive been saying i expect all three to play this year.with guys lime magee and ware we may have 4-5 guys with pass attempts.

Not only does it bother me, I'm shocked he said it...course that goes to show the validity of the knock on him.

Didn't read the thread, but JJ was wrong. He has 20 wins, Hodson has 31. At least that's what the media guide says.

no, i'd prefer him not to mention it at all. to me, this is him saying, "f' yall haters. i'm doing a great job. see, i'm about to be the winningest qb in lsu history." we could probably put any legit qb in the position granted to jj and they would be equally successful, if not more.

About the only way JJ changes public opinion is to win the natl. championship and get MVP, but that won't happen, so...Next.

Something like that, yea.

I guess I would have preferred him to say something along the lines of "yea, we've won a lot of games since I've been here. I gotta give all the credit to my teammates and my coaches for sticking by me and never giving up. I've been very fortunate to have great players around me who can make plays. All I really need to do is make good decisions, not make mistakes, and get them the ball."

A lot of really great QBs talk like this...but, hey, they are who they are and JJ is who he is.

And he's wrong. He is not close to Hodson.

Makes you wonder how many wins Hodson would have put up if surrounded by this much talent his entire career not just his first two seasons! Too bad we cant go back in time and switch them! I would endure JJ back in the late 80's to see what Hodson could have done with this team!
