Jessica Chastain's "Other Mommy" is reportedly a terrible movie...

So terrible, in fact, that the studio is keeping this film from critics until the absolute last minute possible so as to not hurt its box office numbers. The few critics who have managed to sneak into a screening call this Jessica Chastain's worst movie in years.

this doesnt really mean anything in and of itself, they do this with horror movies all the time

Not sure if this is relevant or not, but I love horror movies and when I first saw the trailer for this one I had almost zero interest in seeing it.

Seems like it was trying to hard to mimic the Smile style of horror, if that makes sense.

That’s unfortunate because the premise could’ve made for a fun horror movie. The trailers looked awful though.

I knew it had to be bad when it released yesterday and they still hadn't released the RT score. They had 8 reviews in and they were all bad then when i checked back a few hours later they had removed them. I was planning on seeing it yesterday until i noticed this.

They finally dropped the RT score today....17%. Yikes.

Had no intentions of seeing it but the trailer I saw in theatres creeped me the hell out.

My teenager is on a 5 day fall break thing

Her and a friend saw this last night, her reaction when I picked her up from the movie is that it was weird

So not a glowing review from the teenage demographic

I don't watch hardly any horror films of this type. But from the trailer, it seemed to show a lot of cliché shock points that I've seen in other horror trailers.

The trailer sort of repulsed me. I dunno why exactly but it could be the current public obsession with the Lindsey Clancy case and women filming themselves scaring their babies

I didn't think it looked good to begin with then I read their stat for how many jump scares they put in the movie and knew I wasn't going to enjoy it, just way too many. Plus, Coraline already did this story much better, i'll just watch that.

Jeremy Jahns rated it "Dogshit"

Said that it seemed like they filed the intro (which is essentially the main trailer) and then had Grok compose a feature length film based on it.

how and why is your teenager watching a R rated movie who doesn't have a license.
