I'm sure he knows way more than us about fundamentals, history of the game, how traditional offenses are run, etc.

But there's a reason even the NFL is starting to hire young, innovative offensive minds and guys like Jerry Sullivan are disappearing faster than a Schwinn in the hood.

Does he know more than Jeff Scott? Jeff's only 38.

Actually Jerry said that he’s gotten requests from an NFL team and will also be training guys for the combine.

You also left out that he said going 5 wide sounds great in theory, but you still need someone to hold blocks. Point being, again, the offensive line hindered the entire offense.

Quick slant passes before the rush can get upfield, bubble screens, designed QB sneaks and rollouts, etc.

Those are things you can do when you spread out 4-5 wide that helps your offensive line. It also tires the defensive rush out.

We shouldn't do this every play, but we should do it a lot more. There are offenses that are FAR better than LSU's that have FAR worse talent at every position on offense. What does that tell you?

But do they know more than opposing coaches?
Do they know enough to get the most out of the available talent?

anything that gets him away from the LSU passing game is a plus.

Again, he's great at fundamentals of a WR I'm sure.

I guaran-damn-tee no NFL team has asked him to be passing game coordinator

It doesn't have to be 5 wide. The Patriots ran a very effective passing game with two tight ends. There are many ways to skin a cat. Against Auburn this year, we quick passed them to death. It can be done.

Regardless of whether or not they asked, he said that he doesn’t want to do the 15 hour days anymore.

They love the quick slant passes and bubble screens that gets the ball out of Tom's hand quickly. It wears down a defensive rush and chips away at yardage.

Then it sets up their delayed hand-offs when the defense is expecting the quick pass.

Then that sets up their play action.

Its beautifully simple.

Bama has judy who was probably the best WR in the country this year. Last year as a true freshman he didn’t do more than our freshamen WRs did this year. Let me guess his coaching sucks bc he didn’t have a monster year his true freshman season

They also had Calvin Ridely, a future 1st round draft pick, as their #1 WR that year. It would have been a bit foolish not to make sure to get him the ball in favor of the other WR's. They the same thing they did with Cooper. When you have a true game breaker at WR, you get him the ball.

LSU has Justin Jefferson. No offense to the kid. He had a really good year. But he's not an NFL 1st round talent or a threat to break a huge play every time he touches the ball. He was essentially Russel Gage WITHOUT a DJ Chark out there with him.

So he's saying LSU needs to use the Alabama blocking strategy. If only the Tigers could get the refs cooperation to implement this concept.

I'm not doing some deep analysis

It's just how their drives work a lot of the time.

Matt Flynn has said the same shite over and over. Quick passes and check downs is the best way to protect the QB and tire out a rush, not max protect.

Actually he said that the Rams use this philosophy with Gurley, you know the team they studied in the offseason, but please, continue bashing a retired guy for no reason.

And he is fricking wrong. The Rams absoutely run a spread under McVay with a twist of the old west coast scheme

Bubble screens, stack formations, and verticals mainly out of the spread

Well it didn't work against Alabama. 196 yards and 0 points. I guess we aren't the Rams.
