Matt Flynn has said the same shite over and over. Quick passes and check downs is the best way to protect the QB and tire out a rush, not max protect.

The problem was that people were getting consistent pressure with 3-4 rushers, and the ball was either getting batted down at the line or the ball carrier tackled as soon as he caught the ball.

Each players NFL potential is relevant. Judy is a stud. But he wasn’t ready yet. As was orb smith. As was Ruggs Etc etc. typically, it takes time. There are exceptions. But it is rare.

No one says it is easy. You have to figure out something that works. That's why they get paid. A&M scored 23 points. fricking Arkansas scored 31. Chad Morris can move the ball with that arse Arkansas offensive line.

You don’t understand basic offensive terminology. There’s a difference between spread, pro-style, I-form and the play-action game.

It’s not spread OR play-action. You can do both.

That quote... wow.

I’m not going to trash E or Sullivan; they’ve indicted themselves, IMO.

LSU needs a rethink of it’s offensive philosophy. Orgeron needs to take a lesson from Saban and Gary Patterson by hiring young assistants to run a ‘young’ offense.

I still think Orgeron is smart enough to realize this and get things changed.

Bama has judy who was probably the best WR in the country this year. Last year as a true freshman he didn’t do more than our freshamen WRs did this year.
I wasn't talking about Jerry Juedy. I was talking about Jalyen Waddle, Alabama's freshman WR who had 535 more yds and 4 more touchdowns than Chase. Waddle would have been the second leading WR on LSU's team this year with his numbers. In fact, he was only 28 yds away from having more receiving yards than Justin Jefferson, LSU's leading WR. Waddle also had more touchdowns than Jefferson.

He said you limit your options when you spread it out. He said that the biggest plays come off of play action and that's why we go max protect - because we feel that play action is the best. Said that's what they do in the NFL.

This is almost,"attack their strength "bad.

I know. But go listen to the podcast of the interview, Jerry said roughly "the spread limits the play action, which is why we dont do it........Similar to the rams"

The guy sounded very old and very outdated man. Is what it is

Not if he thinks max protect gives a qb more options than 4 and 5 wide.

Oh pride. You don’t know what you’re watching do you. The rams use play action more than anyone.

Agreed.

5 DB’s covering your 2 receivers gives sooo many more options.

I go back to what Joe Alleva said when he conducted the coaching search. We want a offensive guy with a proven track record of developing qbs. What we got was another branch of the play action scheme tree.

Oh so you pick and choose. You ignore all the others and focus on the outliers. I got it.
