What I heard was, they could play action better than in the spread and that play action got them bigger plays. What's to be considered and taken into account or lack thereof by the staff is, it takes longer to develop PA from under center and exposes the weakness of the o-line/pass blocking issues

Not saying that's the case here but play action blocking schemes sometimes freezes the defense long enough to get the play off. Play action is still productive but you definitely don't run it from your endzone.

Ensminger was an assistant coach in high school when miles rescued him. Imagine how enamored he was when Sullivan told him "this is how we do it in the NFL."

He said you limit your options when you spread it out

Hmmm...I know this man knows what he’s talking about but what exactly does he mean by this?? Is this really what the guys in charge of the LSU offense think in 2019?

We got a ton of big plays off of PA this year even with Brossette and CEH back there.

How many against Alabama?

I'll give a hint:

The same as the amount of points we scored.

Makes sense. We didn't want to limit our options, so we sent 2 WRs into routes and kept everyone else in to protect to, you know, not limit our options.

I can so hear Norm Macdonald as Burt Reynolds saying this line

Actually he said that the Rams use this philosophy with Gurley, you know the team they studied in the offseason, but please, continue bashing a retired guy for no reason.

If only we had Gurley. Our running game was not exactly killing it--especially against teams with a decent DL--Florida, Bama.

Not against teams with a good DL. Face it you got to spread bama out or be able to block the pass rush. PA was not fooling Bama or Florida--games we need to win if we want a better season than the one we had--which was very good.

Nobody gives a shite about stopping brossette. Alabama paid zero attention to the fake handoffs. They played pass all night and shut that shite down with ease. Worst offensive game plan I've seen since the last one against bama.

I feel like our offense is actually headed in the right direction.
E is implementing new schemes and has showed the ability to use tempo effectively.
I believe this year was definitely a learning curve for a lot of players not to mention first year starting QB that came in very late.
I’ve had my complaints. But looking back this is my opinion now.
With more chemistry on offense and the recruiting class coming in, look for quite a bit of improvement.

That max protect certainly worked in our favor when we tried to a do a play action pass on our own 1 yard line vs Bama.

The difference this fall will be night and day. Play action is still a useful and very productive play.

So Emsminger/Sullivan haven’t watched an NFL game in a few years.

If we run the ball better PA will work better.

And Joe Burrow threw for almost 400 yards and 4 TDs but you Nimrods are
still bitching about what formation LSU used. You idiots are ridiculous.

There were times I wish we used more max protection. Our Oline struggled especially early in the season.

Oh my God man.

We all knew max protect was fricking retarded with a struggling offensive line but I thought maybe they had some really good reason for doing it based on some inside information that the rest of us didn't have.

Apparently they are as ignorant as we all thought. Pretty amazing considering we're just Joe Schmoes on a message board.

This team is so fricked.
