No one thought to run a jet sweep with that guy?

A jet sweep? You mean a play that gets our fast guys moving really fast BEFORE they get to the edge? No, it was much better to throw bubble screens to our fast guys who were standing still, then asked to run through and around 3 defenders.

Look at the number of players LSU has sent into the NFL over the years at the position. Lane has gotten great use out of the position, when’s the last time an Ole Miss WR went high in the draft, coached under Lane?
Lane has taken average WR’s any put them into his system. Much of the same with RB’s.

Speed doesn’t always equate to production. Example Chris Hilton

The offensive scheme and plays called were curious with all the speed players LSU had this year.

No O Line = No time to get the ball downfield.

From the standpoint of contribution there is no objective data supporting this transfer as presenting any impact to the team.

Well this one sucks. Really hoped we would showcase his speed.

Oh that's right the offense was fricking trash

He’s only played in 3 games in 2 years. If he was a stud there were plenty of opportunities to see the field.

World class speed isn’t
It's not necessary though.

I’m guessing Lane could run his offense with this same OL. Looking back at his signing classes at Ole Miss, they finished 20, 20, 21, 22 and 17. His player rankings were very low for his OL.

I can see him going to Oregon or Texas Tech and being wildly successful in those offenses

Maybe he is testing his value and coming back to LSU with a number. I could see Lane using speedsters effectively in his offense. Blow the top off the safety and hit a seam or post and then run it again and let him clear the middle of the field out. I'd like to hang on to him for football and track.

The kids that transfer out from LSU, it’s a very low percentage that actually do well at other schools.

Maybe it’s just me but I’m just not that enamored with the “track stars” anymore. Over the last 40 years they seem to be more hype and less production. Trindan Holiday was the only one that I can remember making an impact for LSU!

Well Chris Hilton had plenty of opportunities over several seasons. Watkins is a true freshman and hasn't seen the field much yet because of talented speedsters in front of him.

Just shows the incompetence on the offensive side of the ball the last two years. Maybe he can’t catch but at least get someone with that kind of speed on the field for some plays. Our starting WR corps weren’t world beaters this year, so why not give this kid some run? With the talent LK brings in he probably is buried on the depth chart but he should have played this year.

Dude runs a 10.02 and leaves one of the better college track programs in the country (for sprinters)

Morons gonna moron

Im sure he also realizes that some big time receivers were committed to LK at OM, and have since decommitted

I thought we were going to see more of this guy. Makes you wonder if there was an issue other than playing time. (Work ethic, coach conflict, etc.)

frick these kids and their agents. They should now start posting. "Respect my agents decision" since they can't think for themselves any more.

Any offensive player trying to leave Baton Rouge now is just super soft or has a need that BR can’t fulfill.
