Don't most people argue that income tax doesn't affect the "rich" either. Most people who are rich usually are paid via other means that are subject to capital gains tax, etc.

Not saying i agree with the sales tax. Just throwing out a consideration

Absolutely, look up the carried interest loophole that allows hedge fund managers up north mainly, to pay zero to 20% "income" tax yearly.

Warren Buffet is fond of saying he pays less in income taxes than his secretary.

I have sufficient capital gains carry forward write offs that reduce my income tax by 20-25% yearly. But I'm retired and a lower tax rate for me helps as well. It's why I began laddering CD's years ago and now mainly live off cash, for which taxes have already been paid at maturity when I was working and cashed them in.

It has nothing to do with woke and everything to do with a ULL goon deliberately fricking with LSU football and its traditions. Really……the brother slinging rocks in the housing projects has to pay the same 13% on his car that I do. On income he pays 0 and I pay a metric shite ton. Same goes for the momma on welfare that is full able to work but doesn’t with 11 kids by 9 different baby daddies. She pays the same 13% for her car but pays 0 for income where I pay a shite ton.

Again, I’ll gladly pay more sales tax for 0 income tax…..all day and twice on Sunday.
