Well he is the Louisiana governor and if I am not mistaken, he and CEO are actually friends.

I don’t know If he went or not. He is our governor and a great supporter of the program and should be included in the trip. This is not about political party. We are all one as Tigers. You do realize that most of our players families vote Democrat.

Setting aside the ridiculous presumption about our players families. .... I agree with the rest of this post. JBE should go.

Why? I’d rather him be doing the job he gets paid to do and not inserting himself into everything LSU. Support is cool, but do your job first

You keep repeating this as if it isn’t a lie.

JBE was riding the Republican legislature which had repeatedly cut funding for LSU for 8 years under Jindal. Edwards was fighting for increased funding. He said that if they didn’t increase funding, the university could lose accreditation and athletics, including football, would have to face cuts. He succeeded in the fight and funding was increased for the first time in a decade.

Now take your fantasy politics to the Poli Board where people lie all day.

JBE shouldn't go. This has nothing to do with him. Would the governor of South Carolina go if Clem had won? No. No other governors have done this. This is more JBE inserting himself into LSU's success like he had something to do with it- political pandering at its worst. Especially since he once said that LSU football might be cancelled if he didn't get a tax increase passed- do people remember this?

Tired of seeing this. He didn't threaten to shut football down outright. It was legislature not approving a damn budget that threatened to shut down football. No funding for summer school -> no summer school classes -> players can't get credits needed.

I also don't know why everyone thinks that JBE is a flaming liberal just because he has a D behind his name. You know Trump asked him to switch parties before last election. Edwards is set in office so I doubt the party optics of "OMG he's meeting Trump" really matter to him.

He didn’t threaten to shut them down. If you read the article he just predicts that’s what will happen if the legislature continued with cuts that he OPPOSED. LSU football is the pride and joy of Louisiana so I’d have no issue with JBE going with players. A good bit of bipartisanship too in this era wouldn’t hurt

No one who dislikes JBE politics more than me. And his comments about LSU football shutting down and his numerous other scare tactics are some of the most offensive politics I have witnessed .

However he is the Governor and this is a state university. He should go. Sort of like saying Trump shouldn’t go to the Olympics. Or Trump should not go to the RyDer cup.

It cuts both ways.
