He's not an NFL talent, just facts

He'll get drafted by the 4th round today

Again, if he pulls a Kenny Pickett, he could go 2, maybe 3 rounds higher. That's very possible given his age/experience.

Remember, Kenny Pickett went from UDFA to 1st rounder and he never had a year like JD's 2022 prior to his senior year.

A bit ironic to say this when the vast majority of folks wishcasting him to go pro this year are not, in fact, his fans.

Yes. He will. He is simply NOT READY.

Showed that he could maybe learn to recognize quickly and hit open guys. But he's just not there right now.

Nah man. Every back up QB at LSU is the next Joe Burrow. They just need their shot at playing. Don’t you know that? All back up QBs are really the better QBs. Coaches just don’t play them because reasons.

No more than I can see Nuss reading double coverage and being smart enough not to throw into it.

If he could have about 90% of the production he did against Florida, Ole Miss, and Alabama through the entire season with zero duds, he'll absolutely shoot up on the draft boards.

But he did that already, a bunch of times vs UGA. You do know JD also threw a pick in that game right?

Agree the OP does and laughable he thinks his post will matter $0.02 to JD.

Agreed. If I was his dad I would say go. Its better for LSU that he stays, but better for him that he goes.

What have we seen from Milroe that puts his draft stock higher than JD5?

I agree he’ll be 4th at best and no worse than 8th. Maybe he’ll go off in the bowl game and that will solidify him as the 3rd best in this draft.

It is possible that JD plays the bowl game and depending on his performance, reevaluates his decision to go/stay based on the post-game draft prediction. (Maybe he plays himself into an earlier round…)
Meaning, his decision to play in the bowl game may not be the final indicator of whether he will be at LSU next year…and the QB room may not be set just yet.

Burrow went from a potential mid-round pick (at best) to #1 overall in the span of a season. I'm not saying Daniels could make that drastic of an improvement (we my never see anyone do that again). Kenny Picket went from late-round flier to first round QB in the span of a year.

The physical attributes are more or less already set. 6'3, with great speed (for a QB) and a good enough arm. It's one year of tremendous production that could vault him from afterthought to the 1st round. Which is the same exact thing that happened for Burrow and Pickett. Neither got bigger, stronger, or faster ahead of their final seasons. They just put up huge numbers.

Same thing with Zach Wilson. Kid went from an afterthought at BYU to, Who thell is that!?

Just to let everybody know what I'm talking about

Zach Wilson sophomore
199/319 62.4% 7.5 ypa 2382 yards 11 TD 9 int, 167 rush yards 2.5 ypc 3 TD

Zach Wilson junior
247/336 73.5% 11 ypa 3692 yards 33 TD 3 int, 247 rush yards 3.6 ypc 10 TDs

Kenny Pickett redshirt senior (3rd year starting 4th year playing)
203/333 61% 7.3 ypa 2408 yards 13 TD 9 int, 145 rush yards 1.8 ypc 8 TD

Kenny Pickett redshirt super senior
334/497 67.2% 8.7 ypa 4319 yards 42 TD 7 int, 241 rush yards 2.5 ypc 5 TD

Joe Burrow redshirt junior
219/379 58% 7.6 ypa 2894 yards 16 TD 5 int, 400 rush yards 3.1 ypc 7 TD

Joe Burrow redshirt senior
402/527 77% 10.8 ypa 5671 yards 60 TD 6 int, 368 rush yards 3.2 ypc 5 TD

Jayden Daniels junior
254/371 68.5% 7.5 ypa 2774 yards 16 TD 3 int, 818 rush yards 4.54 ypc 11 TD

Jayden Daniels senior?

What I find the most funny is that people believe Jayden Daniels can't learn to throw the ball downfield more (something he did big time at Arizona St), and read defenses better, but Nuss will all of a sudden stop being a gunslinger and throwing it into harms way. Being a gunslinger doesn't just go away. It's one thing to come off the bench and throw and throw in a game down by 30+ with a defense playing soft, it's another to be the known starter of the game and doing it during a close game or leading.

JD could improve his draft status a great deal with another year if he improves his passing accuracy and ability to find secondary receivers. If he can't do that then he won't improve his draft status with another year. It's really not that hard to figure out.

No you definitely don't appreciate it. Plenty of your type ready to talk crap anytime he incompleted a pass.

but it's time we look to the future, not someone looking to pad his stats hanging around for another year
If he comes back it's to improve himself as a QB and win a championship, but you don't like him so of course you say "pad his stats"

He's hit his ceiling and what you see is what you've got.
Yeah this is beyond retarded. There are plenty of guys recently who have completely changed that narrative. Max Duggan is another one this year. Michael Penix Jr as well.

People that have watched Arizona St will tell you that he's already improved. If he can bring back some of that carefree passing that he did as a freshman (6 of 12 games with at least 284 passing, 5 300 yard games, 4 games with at least 334 passing), LSU will explode next year.
