337 yards
5 TD
0 INT
30.6 yards per attempt (1st nationally)
8 big time throws
66.7% big time throw % (1st nationally)
98.8 @PFF grade (1st nationally)
81.8% adjusted completions (1st nationally)

I'm sure the numbers won't be as rosey as we get deeper into the schedule, but nice to see we are connecting at a decent clip so far

I was under the impression JD couldn’t throw the deep ball!

I'm just happy he's putting it up there and letting LSU's elite receivers make plays.

He’s thrown it well the last two weeks, no doubt about that. Let’s hope this is the standard (or closer to it) going forward.

The criticism is that he’s unwilling to throw the deep ball. That obviously wasn’t the case yesterday and he lit it up. Hopefully he continues to attack it

He can hit them. I was just hoping for the attempts to keep the defense honest

Possibly a product of OL not being in sync vs FSU and their good front 7

JD has looked great the last two games. The flack he is catching is from the FSU game where most of those metrics were probably 0. I am optimistic that he will keep it up as we go forward.

If he builds off that Miss St performance and gets even better then he's going to be drafted in the first round next year. Book it.

If he continues to play like he did we're making a run at the SEC championship.

Here's the problem. The retards on here will expect 30/34 every week now. Anybody with a brain knows this isn't realistic. Doesn't mean he's not doing well though.

That first deep ball to Nabers was as good a pass as he's thrown at LSU. Perfectly placed.

JD5 can be as good as any other QB in college football if he wants. He’s not an elite passer but he is good enough to make the throws. He just has to have confidence and be willing to take some risks. His X factor is his ability to extend plays and make plays with his feet. A balanced approach is incredibly hard to defend.

Dear Mr. The Egg:

I don't believe you.

I have been reading post after post after post by the Nuss Buss crowd telling me that he's afraid to throw deep, that he doesn't have the arm strength to throw deep, couldn't hit a receiver if he did try to throw deep, and that CBK was too stubborn to let him throw deep.

Now you come here with those stats? Hah! You think I'm going to believe you over the crowd of Nuss Buss loyalists that assured me diiferently?

after grilling him throughout the entire off season on throwing the ball, I think its safe to say it has made an impact

The criticism was that he wouldn’t throw the deep ball. Obviously he did it Saturday and if he continues to do it, nobody will be complaining about that.

I'm guessing those first 3 were in week 1.

He has indeed taken the next step in his game. Very nice.

Nah.

If he plays just 80% as well as he did yesterday it'll be an excellent season for him.
