It depends on his values. LSU is a much easier job because the advantages LSU baseball has over the competition is greater than any other in sports that I can think of. We can outspend everyone on recruits and facilities, and we have the best recent tradition.

If it’s money he’s after, then LSU is better than most MLB managing positions but not as good as the Yankees. So if it’s fame and money, he should favor the Yankees but not most of MLB. If it’s long term security with an easy chance of dominating, then it’s LSU.

Maybe he's a Sox fan?

They will want him fired again the first time he loses two straight

Two straight? Lol. The second LSU trails, doesn't matter if it's the third inning, the threads will start.

"So much for preseason #1"

"Looks like JJ doesn't know how to coach all this talent."

"What happened to being the most talented team in the nation?"

This is a 100% guarantee.

The dynasty is beginning. With NIL, portal, transfer rules, the name of the game is recruiting. Jay is tailor made for this and has built a staff around that as well.

I expect Vitello to also thrive in this environment and he has already. I do believe in the end, Jay has more advantages over Vitello and it will show in time.

LSU is going to be hard to beat for a long time.

Hard to disagree with this. I feel the same way, but I'm trying to keep my expectations in check. The 90's won't likely ever happen again, but we can still take back over college baseball.

Shocker. A coach with no shot at being the NYY manager claims he would never leave his current job for one he would never get in the first place.

Let's see him actually show he's worth a damn on the diamond with his team before anointing them anything other than paper champions.

I have hope he will be a great one, but this team has proven absolutely nothing to date, and people are acting like they are a shoe in for Omaha.

Let em prove it then heap the praise. They couldn't even get out of a regional last year.

Re our new pitching coach : Matook has been interviewing the pitchers on his pod cast & 4-5 have been saying the same thing : I've learned more about pitching this Fall than I have in my whole career to date". Zach Taylor said "Coach sat me down & laid out what all it takes to get to the Big Leagues & then laid out just how he was going to help me get there. He's the most intelligent baseball coach I've ever talked with".

I believe him. Who would want to live in NYC half the year and then deal with a roster full of overpaid players.

Yep. You can add WDA, Pirate King, first cut, indian, and a few others I'm forgetting to this list as well.

He has already been to Omaha twice as a coach, I would say he has already done something.

It was not a good team last year. The pitching staff was young, inexperienced, and had no true ace on the team. Multiple position players were playing out of position just to get enough good bats in the lineup to have a competitive team. If you were expecting anything more than a regional last year then I’m not sure what to tell you.
