squatting while taking care of business actually helps prevent hemorrhoids. I know. I had them for years, and sometimes they were very painful. I had built a new home and office and the builder put in "comfort" toilets, that sit very high. my hemorrhoids got much worse, but I didn't make the connection until I read about the squatty potty on Dr. Mercola's website. I found the right position and have been hemorrhoid free ever since. Praise the Lord!
I also recommend the bidet. you can get one to fit on your toilet for 70 bucks or less, and they are easy to install. it's great not to have to wipe your arse. it's so civilized. I hate to travel now because hotels and public restrooms don't have them as a general rule. and you get really clean, which is very comfortable.
life is better with smooth, easy bowel movements that are easily cleaned.
