I don't know why everyone looks at the final score of this game and uses that to judge how the game went. That game was won with Special Teams and Defense and should have been a foreshadowing of what was to come in the National Championship.

It was honestly the worst offensive display that I have ever seen from a so called elite team, especially at the QB position. I wasn't surprised one bit about the results in the NC after the way the offense played in this game.

0 first downs in the first half
7 punts
12 total yards in first half.

Looks pretty similar to another game we played that year.

Man you try way too hard.
JJ's play that night was embarrassing.
LM chosing to stay with him and waiting til about 1min to go in the game to put Lee in was almost if not just as embarrassing.

If any thing it gave us all as LSU fans an insight of what was going to happen the next time we stepped on the field.. which it did.

Most people would agree.
You... not so much.

You are bitching about the SEC championship that lsu won in blow out fashion because your favorite player sat on the bench.

Even I a JJ sympathiser, know that SEC championship win had nothing to do with JJ and more to do with TM7's big play ability and KH27 getting the right touches.

5/13 w/ 30yrds passing is nothing to be proud of.

Brad Wing too. After nearly every 3 and out we had a fantastic mood swinging punt to get excited about and give the defense some breathing room. A ton of things had to go very right on Special Teams and Defense to win that game.

You used to try and be an LSU homer (nothing wrong with that extreme) now you have a favorite player and make stabs at other former players.....

Kinda sad to see someone go from one extreme to the next...

Your feeling got hurt because your boy Lee sat on the bench while LSU crushed Georgia to go undefeated in the SEC.

Get over it and move on.

Right, you knew LSU who was averaging 200 yards a game rushing would rush for less that 50.

Please dont make me by suggesting your boy JL was some kind of answer to either the Georgia or Alabama defenses.

RS is a good guy and he had some bright moments at LSU, but there was a reason he couldn't start.

I'll only make this point...during this entire fiasco (both this abortion of a fricking thread and the subsequent JJ/JL years) I don't think ANYONE listed JJ as their favorite player. Those who defended him (and I'll certainly count myself among them) did so largely out of loyalty for an LSU player, and in part because they agreed with the decision made by the staff. None of that made the guy anyone's favorite player...just the better option. A point that has, and from the looks of it, will continue to be debated for-fricking-ever. Not by me, though...because it's 2013.

For many in this thread, however, Lee WAS and remains their favorite player. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. But in these arguments, what you've got are guys who are legitimately arguing in favor of their favorite player, and guys arguing in favor of the lessor of two evils. To equate the two is just not correct.

But hey...you guys keep going at it. Even funnier today than it was back in 2011.

Yeah you are right... I as well as the vast majority of LSU fans and prob even tracy wolfson who asked about JL at the half, all felt bad for him.. considering what he did for that team he deserved better.

Must have sucked to sit there and watch JJ shoot projectile vomit all over the field with his mad qb skills vs uga.

I knew that if JJ couldnt get a first down vs uga his life at qb wasnt gonna improve vs alabama... WOW that was a tough asssumption to make.

BTW, GFY.

JJ is/was a favorite for many.....
I think Lee losing his position and never really playing again has caused him to gain a few more followers than he had before. It isn't like JJ played head and shoulder above Lee and he struggled near end of year so people believe Lee should have gotten another chance, especially in NC when LSU had nothing to lose since they were being dominated.

People defending JJ take swipes at Lee and those defending Lee take swipes at JJ. So it is easy to see whose favorite player is who, defend an LsU player all you want but that doesn't mean you have to put another down to do so.

Although it seems you believe those arguing for Lee do so because he is their favorite but those in favor of JJ do so because he is lesser of two evils. People could believe Lee was lesser of two especially with way he played during that season prior to Bama game. So you bringing that up in that manner is just as bad IMO

No one that has ever been a posting presence on this board. If they disagree, they can feel free to step up and side with you here. I defended JJ as much as anyone here, but not once did I ever suggest the guy was a favorite player.

It isn't an assumption on my part. Not once have I seen anyone on this board declare JJ their favorite player...before or after his time in an LSU uniform. For many IN THIS THREAD Lee was that by as early as 2010.

I'm not even saying those that argue in favor of Lee are doing so SOLELY because he's a favorite...just that he is. There just isn't the same thing on the other side...and never was. I mean, I know it would make for a better fight, but it just isn't so.

Now...if we were talking Russell/Flynn, I'd agree with you and say that in that argument you DO get groups who argue in favor of their favorite. JJ/JL...not so much.

So the head coach had nothing to do with winning the sec championship? It scares me that some of ya'll in this thread are serious.

Bottom line is based upon on and off the field actions, the only thing JL ever did to lose any fan favor was throw some ints as a fresh.
That's all.

JJ on the other hand.,, well his fan critique resume is a tad longer.
It's not debateable.
It's not racist.
It's not overblown.
What happened, happened.

I dont really get the fuss that some try to make.. today or 3 years ago.

Let's try this...feel free to ask anyone if JJ is/was their favorite player. Unless you're self assigning this tag to posters, then they ought to step right up and claim his arse...right?

Like I said, I defended the guy as much as anyone here and not once did I suggest anything of the kind.

Anyone else want to claim JJ as their fave?

I'll go ahead and step out of the way so as not to be trampled when I ask the question about Lee...

We did this in 2011...enjoy continuing to fight this if you want. I'll pass.

I only stepped in to point out the absurdity of suggesting those people who stepped up and defended an LSU QB were doing so because he was some fan favorite. In this case, it was never that.
