So you just showed his Freshman highlights that were mostly against Tulane, ULL, La Tech with some SEC mixed in.
That's who the frick LSU plays.. 3-4 rent a wins, 5-6 mediocre to poor SEC teams and a couple, three good ones.
quote:
The tape was littered with 5-7 yard wildcat and misdirection plays.
7 YPC average for his career...
quote:
You literally proved my point.
That you missed his first two years? Yep. Proved.
quote:
The dude is fast, but that's it.
Yeah, you don't know what you are talking about.
quote:
LSU actually did a decent job in creating misdirection with motion and fakes to get him space on the outside that year...which is why he was solid.
nah, he is talented.
quote:
We stopped doing that the last 2 years and ran a much more run oriented style of offense so he had to play receiver. He is below average to not good at WR.
He wasn't a WR, or ever going to be. His talent showed his first couple of years, which was getting the ball and making plays.
quote:
Do you really think the coaches were like "Hey, this guy is better than James Wright but I just don't want to play him." He cannot catch, he fights the ball every time, and he runs inaccurate routes. That's why he's so hard to throw to because he's not consistent.
Probably why they are criticized for continuing to use him where he was the least effective.

I'll be fifty years old and people will still be debating this shite.

LSU played 5 teams that finished in the top 10 and had a SOS ranked in the top 5.
RS is a good kid who didn't have the talent to start at LSU at any position or compete for serious playing time.
That is the reason the pros have no real interest in him.
Wish him well and love to have him prove me wrong.

7 YPC average for his career...
Are you aware how fluctuated YPC can be? He had 1 rush for 78 yards against Towson...if you can't do the math, that's a 78 YPC. Pretty sure I don't need to explain anymore how stupid YPC is

Why do you keep going on and on about those two years? He had 5 touchdowns and 791 yards on 115 touches between rushing and receiving for those two years. If that was one years it would be pretty good, still probably average for a person going to the NFL...but it was over a two year span.

Let me guess...you wanted him to play quarterback? This isn't a video game, he's a tweener. He was too slim to run in between tackles so he couldn't be a running back. He dropped swing passes, ran terrible routes, and overall was to inconsistent at WR. So where does he play? He is a gimmick player. Is he talented? Yes he is solid, but he has to be elite to be in the NFL, and he wasn't even a standout at LSU.

That would make you as wrong as you have been the rest of the thread.

Yeah, take away all those long runs for his career and he's an average back. Do you realize how stupid you sound?

Because his role changed, as did his productivity. Most athletes become more productive in their last two years. Had his role continued, his career would have been much different

Damn. Was hoping for JaMarcus.

I'm sorry. Every time I watched Shep run, I saw a guy with basically zero vision who could be taken down on first contact nearly 100% of the time.
Did he have some decent speed and talent in the open field? Yeah. But, you can't have a RB who can't fricking break tackles and is ONLY good if you get him into space.
That's why they tried to move him to receiver.
I don't dislike RS. He always seemed to have a good attitude and yeah, perhaps he could've been used better.
But, I think the odds he makes anything other than a practice squad this year are worse than my odds of going to Vegas and killing it at the roullette wheel.

Jordan Jefferson was selling drugs and had tyrann matheiu with him.. Not exactly a stunning example of personal accountability.
Clouding the thread with facts Doc? Shame.
Maybe JJ had a court date on the same day-seems like he has a couple of those coming up.
Blame his family (easy to spot on TD) and Les for his lack of personal accountability. Les threw JL under the bus with both hands in 2008, yet always defended JJ no matter how bad he was. And he was really really bad. Made me wish Marcus Randall could return to play QB. Yet, in his interviews, he would talk about what a great game he had afterwards. One of my all-time performances by him:
LSU Passing
Player Cmp Att Yds TDs Int
J. Jefferson 5 13 30 1 0
For $100, anyone name that game? And yes, he took every snap.

If Shep would have started at QB in the BCS championship against Bama, we win. JJ or JL, we lose.

I love how people start pulling out their alters on page 12 of these threads

What the hell does a link have to do with whether these guys were under used? The fact of the matter is that JL played very well while JJ was suspended . That being said JL rarely stepped foot on the field the rest of the season. The biggest slap to JL 's face was not getting into the NC game when JJ was totally ineffective. I guess the same thing can be said for Russell S. Link? Dude did you watch any games in 2011 or do you get all of your info from Tiger rant?

I was thinking Vanderbilt, but Lee got in and completed the only 2-3 throws he threw.
I was there in Atlanta, it was uncomfortable and embarrassing to say the least concerning how les miles handled the qbs that night.

You are bitching about the SEC championship that lsu won in blow out fashion because your favorite player sat on the bench.
Wow. What a clown.
