It's not Lee. It's the hero worship he gets on this site. And, it's not because its positive, its because a lot of it is thin-veiled attacks on Jefferson.
Not everyone is RobbBobb and will come out and show their arse. A lot of people will launch backhanded insults at players through making seemingly positive compliments about others.
I'd actually prefer when people directly attack players because then it is easy to see who thinks what.
But again, I may talk about technique, I may talk about mechanics or stats, but I doubt you'll ever find where I've said something like:
Lee sucks; or
We would be screwed with Lee; or
Lee just doesn't have a brain; or
Lee is just Miles' pet; etc., etc.

Ahh...got it. Kinda like small govt. is code for racism. That read between the lines stuff.
Both have strong points, both have weaknesses. LSU doesn't have one QB who deserves to play full time IMO.

I think in most cases its a little more obvious than the example above.

I can agree with this.

What you will find, if you have any kind of objectivity, is that there are few, if any, pro-Lee posters who are not absolutely anti-Jefferson.
Look at RobbBobb's first post in this thread that is supposed to be about man-crushes on Lee.
Look at TigerNlc's first post (and the majority of his posts) in this thread that is supposed to be about man-crushes on Lee.
There are many posters who are pro-facts. However, once they point out the facts, they are usually labeled as Jefferson's fan club or Jefferson's kin. It's sad, really.
As I have ALWAYS said, I hope Lee develops into a terrific QB. LSU will probably need him this year. It's tough for a QB to go through a season unscathed.

what?
It's a left wing poli board staple. Moss knows what I am talkin about.
I think everyone who leans LSU needs to realize both QB's are going to be totally necessary until the staff feels inclined to give Mettenberger a shot. Saying good things about one isn't dissing the other. Its inevitable that both Lee and JJ will play this year, may as well hope both have improved.

It's not just the lefties, you should see some of the righties opinions as well....
Oh well, didn't mean to hijack.

Is it ok to just think positively of both qb's and pull as hard as youcan for both of them?
I'm not following why we need to cannabilize our own team again ?

Lee lost 3 games as a starter in 2008.
@ #13 Florida(BCS Champions)
#9 Georgia
#1 Alabama
Not sure your point, but

All 3 teams that Lee lost in complete games to, were worthy of a #1 ranking during that season. And the kid gets a bad rap because of losses to these top-ranked teams.

I say we see all 3 winning or losing.

I think we will need this guy (again) at some point in 2011.
Lee has been a class act during his time at LSU.

Well if that's the standard, Jefferson has lost a total of three games in three years.

BUMP! X1000000000000
Although I am tired of these types of threads. I think the last LSU drive versus Bama proves proof enough.

4 posters on here agree that you are wrong, and you fail to see the error of your ways.
Lee was the QB that was responsible for the offense when we lost the Ole Miss game.
You can't have it both ways. You can't put every loss JJ participated in firmly on his shoulders, but give JL a pass.
You have to call it fair, or leave the discussion to the grown ups.

(hi, original poster here.)
for the record, I'd be saying more or less the same thing about JJ if JLee was named the clear starter and everyone else relegating JJ to an after-thought.
(only diff being that I think JJ doesn't quite do the quiet, man about his business, doesn't-whine angle that JLee has shown.)
JJ has given me plenty of ulcers, but he has also played his butt off against Bama the last two years. I just would like to see that kind of preparation, concentration, and execution from him week to week.
Both guys are inconsistent and at times fun to watch.
But, imo, there is no denying that JLee is closer to an NFL camp arm than JJ. No freakin' comparison.

Why do people say Lee saved Jefferson against Tennessee?
Lee played the majority of the snaps in that game and LSU was never losing when Jefferson was in the game.
He even took LSU on a drive to go up 10-7 in the 4th.
