How did he "save" it for Jefferson when LSU was up 10-7 after Jefferson's last snap?
It's not as clear cut as the Florida game. We obviously lose to them without Lee.
Lee played like crap against Tennessee just like Jefferson did.

both played like crap. it'll feel good if you come to terms with it.
Jefferson couldn't complete a pass like usual, and Lee came out with the usual backfoot throws, pick in the endzone, and somehow letting the play clock run out on the big 4th down play.

jj and j lee are both awful passers.
jj is fixing his mechanics apparently. j lee is still mind__cked from fr year. he has had his moments, but he backs away from pressure and throws off his back foot at least a third of the time. still looks inexperienced out there. he has some guts, but for every good throw j lee has had there is an absolute wtf moment to complement it. i guess the same can be said for jj as well.
the true deal breaker here is 3rd down conversion. it is why you see jj in the game as the starter. the ability to keep drives moving and create. if you look back at the last couple of seasons, he has progressed in this regard.
we need some production from receivers as well. as bad as the qbs have played, they have had very little help.

He threw the ball well on the final drive.

hope he gets a shot in an NFL camp next summer because he still has a quick release and live arm.
Holla at ya boy if you are a JL fan....
I've always been one of the biggest JL fans on this board and got tired of all the crap posted about him in 08. He is probably one of the better backup QB's in the SEC and gives us good depth. If JJ were to go down with an injury I can see him giving Mett good competion for playing time this season.

neither qb is overly-gifted, but neither was helped, at all, by play-calling the last 3 years. Also, if you go back and check the drive charts, Lee has been pretty effective on late downs...

j lee does have a quick release, but his arm strength will not cut it in the NFL.

LSU will need both again this year. People just need to realize this is going to be the case and deal with it. JJ will start, nothing will change that. I trust Lee more in stress time than JJ however. and both will be needed.

disagree...his release and arm are made for today's NFL, but he doesn't make decisions near quick enough and can't take the pressure/hits.

he does not deal with pressure well. losing his mechanics.
i still disagree that his arm strength is adequate. his mechanics allow him to have a quick release, but he really never gets on top of the ball. good touch, but not good enough arm strength. pick sixes in the flat is a direct correaltion to arm strength.

Amazing how many NFL qualified scouts are on this site.

He does have a quick release but have to disagree with you about his arm strenth. The rest of your post is right on target though. He is also not nearly athlitic enough for the NFL. Could possibly see a Canadian team giving him a tryout though.
