It has to be hard for the posters that trashed Lee for trying to do what was asked of him in 08. They saw Jefferson have some good passing numbers (great in the RZ) in 2009, then when he regressed it was all on Crowton. Lee comes in and does a nice job on occasion last year.

Coming into this year a lot of people were all in on JJ, and in turn it seems like that meant they downplayed Lee's ability to improve. Some posters actually said he wasn't good (which is what the last few pages of this thread are about).

Props to OBUDan for sticking around and at least acknowledging the issues. I'm sure a majority of the fans that were posting stupid shite saying how Lee isn't good and can't improve the way JJ did (or would have this year) just choose to ignore it and not admit that they were completely wrong about what Lee could do for the offense.
Are there really that many anti-Lee posters?

Probably count them on one hand?

Speaking of, I just saw this from Ivan Maisel and found it apropos to the thread:

quote:

Nothing personal regarding Garrett Gilbert's decision to transfer from Texas. He is out for the season after shoulder surgery and whatever coach Mack Brown and offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin told him about his future made him decide that if he wants to play football, he should go somewhere else. But whatever happened to love of school? Love of teammates? Whatever happened to being, as every backup quarterback is, one play away?
or in this case one stalking drunk Marine away....

Probably no harder than the Lee lovers who said Jefferson doesn't deserve any playing time...

No doubt. That crap goes both ways. I know, without question, that I have been saying for the last 2 years that Crowton was largely to blame for Lee's struggles. He just kept calling plays with no room for error. Those horribly designed screen plays he would run were just asking for a pick-6. Then the pick-6 gets in Lee's head, which gives him pause on those passes, further increasing the likelihood of a pick. Sure, Lee made some bad throws, but Crowton's schemes allowed it to snowball out of control.

Just started reading, but this is my favorite quote so far.

Is the Lee statue going next to Shaqs?

And OBUDan.

Who would have thought. It turned into another JJ vs Lee thread. People can't let go of their own personal pets.

eta: It also never turned into JJ vs. Lee. But I wouldn't expect you to read and comprehend.

Typical Rog, shows up, doesn't read, bashes two posters baselessly and has nothing of note to actually say.

Well, since you obviously haven't read anything.

I'm discussing both of LSU's current quarterbacks.

Just let it go.

Let what go? Why do you never heed your own advice? You do this constantly... you have nothing to actually say... you have no actual thoughts inside your head, you just show up in threads to throw out lame accusations against a handful of posters and then tell people they need to "let it go."

You were WRONG.

Once again, you clearly haven't read shite in this thread, and you continue to look like a gigantic moron.
