the question is: would you rather a good coach that is a shitty recruiter or a great recruiter and a shitty coach? i'll take a great recruiter who lets his coaches coach all day. that's what O is doing. he's always been a great recruiter.

So far, he hasn’t shown much in either area. Please prove me wrong. I want to be proven wrong.

So far you havent been proven wrong. LSU has not had a good OLine coach in quite some time. This year Cregg will either sink or swim with the way the Line plays.

This isn’t a binary choice. Find one who can do both.

LSU’s o line recruiting has not been stellar over the last few years.

Hester has said several times that when LSU hires him, Philip Rivers texted him and said “you’re getting the best in the business.” Go look at his resume and background... dude is impeccable.

Cregg coaching them through Another camp season will tell us a lot. with the experience returning.

agreed. I was disappointed in the OL performance against UCF, being it was the last game of the year and the line had several games together and the extra practice time. since then they have had spring practice and soon to have fall practice.

we will definitely see if he can coach this year.

He’s probably a good coach. The problem is a zone blocking scheme is a lot for college linemen to handle. So far it’s not working out for LSU.

Come down the street and let me bust my knuckles across your face for this stupid arse statement. He’s been here for 1 season and had a mediocre front line to work with

I totally agree we should judge all coaches just like we judge recruits after one season. If you aren’t getting it done it’s time to move one. No way they can improve.

Georgia has a star-studded offensive line. Of course they can.

Our recruiting has to improve 10-fold IMO just to get in the conversation.

I have assumed the guy can coach. The 2018 OL was a huge disappointment no matter how you slice it.
As for recruiting, we are certainly not setting the world on fire with elite line prospects. Is that because of Cregg; because Louisiana doesn't produce enough O-line talent, or; our OL recruiting strategy is not working?

Orgeron has addressed each of the issues he was faced with when he took over the program slowly but surely. THere's work to be done with the big uglies.

Coach O sees him all the time. If he can't make the grade with O he will be gracefully shown the door. I think it's too early to know how good Cregg is in recruiting. It takes a couple cycles to build those relationships with recruits and their families.

Coaching professionals and HS/College kids are not the same. Not everyone who is a good NFL coach is a good college coach, vise versa.
