Sucks for Jalen Reed. Poor guy. He clearly was playing gingerly with his knee now this. Horrible

With that said, we had a weird rotation with our bigs and seemed lost. I think the game against DePaul was partly because our rotation shortened.

Achilles tendon. Different injury profile from the ACL. Don't know if it's the same leg impacted.

I don’t think his foot injury is on the same leg as his ACL injury.

Our success profile this year will come into focus this week with first the road game ACC/SEC challenge, then difficult back-to-back contests with Texas Tech and SMU. Sort of an early-season buzzsaw

You'll find out pretty quick about the front court on Sunday. Toppin is a LOAD to handle inside. Preseason All American who is averaging 22/11.

If nothing else, it would have been great to have another body in Reed to throw at him. At least to force him to beat LSU from the FT line (where he's not good, at all)

It is common for one leg injury to eventually lead to another injury on the other leg, as you are still building that repaired leg’s muscle and confidence back up while putting more weight and strain on the other leg to compensate.

Source: three ACL tears myself - right, left, right - all sports related.

Sucks for the dude. It did seem like his injury last year was a significant inflection point for the team last year. I wonder if he will try to come back next year. Achilles is usually a 1 year recovery, although somehow Aaron Rodger’s was back practicing after 3 months.

He wasn't 100% yet, and the team looks pretty much the same whether he is in the game or not. This isn't like last year, where the entire offense was built around Reed.

It's awful news for him, though, and I was looking forward to how good the team would look when he was 100%

Sucks for this young man, deja vu from last year. I was really looking fwd to seeing how the team developed with him 100% . Hopefully we have the guys to step up and log quality minutes in SEC play.

No reason he doesn’t come back. I really hope he does.

still have a solid 9 man rotation that was hitting on all cylinders

starting 5
thomas
mackinnon
tamba
sutton
nwoko

and 4 very solid bench guys all of whom can be trusted:
carter
king
reece
miller

so that's 9 and you really need 8.422

when nwoko is in foul trouble could be troubling but I think they are still a good team and wont be hurt much by the loss of reed.
