True that!

Plus I think they still confuse the two Jalens. However, I do think Jalen Collins has an NFL future - just not first three rounds.

I do not think he goes first round either, but you never know. Crazy things happen with the draft.

He was a Freshman All-American in 2012 FWIW.

With him playing safety in 2013 and 2014, he'll show versatility and experience. Also, if you go to LSU Bama or Florida and play a good bit, you're probably going to get drafted, all other variables constant. Its that simple.

Lol exactly. My favorite is when they discuss how a player "fell down the drafboard" at the last minute. Did they fall or were the analysts simply wrong? Duh

. "Brett Hundley, QB, UCLA (Jr.): I thought Hundley regressed in 2013, but he has great size and a big arm. He has to show that he's better throwing the football."

Christ, this is stupid. You put a guy in your top 20 but he isnt good throwing the football....?

At LSU the backups are NFL prospects

People are laughing but

2011 backup CB Ron Brooks 4th round
2012 backup DE Lavar Edwards 5th round
2012 backup RB Spencer Ware 6th round
2013 3rd backup RB Alfred Blue 6th round
2013 backup James Wright WR 7th round

Didn't Collins move to safety? The NFL need safeties who can cover and not just big hitters with all the new targeting rules and the pass happy NFL.

Collins is probably a better safety too, and like Mills, a sound tackler. Probably a better zone corner than the man we play 80% of the time.

CB has become more watered down recently...finding Elite CB's are not as plentiful as in the past...

This years 1st Round (31st Overall to Broncos) CB-Bradley Roby-Ohio St. was ABUSED by WR-Jared Abbrederis-Wisconsin(5th Round/176th to Packers).........10 receptions for 207 yards(including 64 yd TD)!!Most CB's Drafted that late in 5th are 5'-10"ish 185lbs. running 4.6's...

This is not Not a knock on Jalen Collins

That really doesn't say that much though..... It's not all about what you do in college, if it were Colt Brennan would be awesome. It's how you translate to the NFL. And a lot of players that go early are raw, but have the athletic ability that gives them the higher ceiling and potential to be great at the next level. That's what Roby is. He has great size and athleticism. But was an up and down college player with flashes of being really good. If he can put it together, he will be a good nfl CB.

Some of the LSU DBs other than Collins:

Tre'Davious White Soph
Corey Thompson Soph
Jalen Mills Junior
Ricky Jefferson Soph
Ronald Martin Sr
Rashard Robinson Soph

If Collins is rated this high, What are some of these Sophomores going to be rated? Future is bright.

I think Collins size, physical tools, plus good team attitude will get him drafted. I just dont see how he will be a first round pick like the two mock drafts linked in this thread have said, especially since he is probably not gonna start at corner this coming year in college. I think he will get drafted and probably land on a team. I just do not know if he will be a 1st rounder if things run the course they are on now.

Colt Brennan actually started for his respective team for 3 yrs. Collins is fighting for his life to get on the field. He has been passed by every good freshman that has come in. People saying he will move to safety may be right but he won't see much time there either. Ricky Jefferson,Corey Thompson,Martin,Mills, and now freshman Jamal Adams have all those spots locked up. We are stacked at DB and Im afraid Collins really isn't even in the mix.

"2012 backup RB Spencer Ware 6th round"

wait who was he backing up?..other than Ware that list is actually pretty impressive and you could throw in Craig Davis Sklyer Green and Trindon, they were not starters or true #1 #2 receivers either

That description could easily be about Blake Bortles who got picked 3rd.

I still get the Jalens mixed up. It is Mills who is making the move to safety and Collins who is now the #3 corner. Correct?

Also to be fair, of the two freshmen who passed Collins up at least one of them will win the Thorpe.
