I've been looking at the top draft prospects for the 2015 nfl draft and (no surprise) La'El is up there, but I keep seeing Jalen Collins ranked particularly high. Like this one LINK 11th overall? Good thing he starts on our team

He's probably 4th on the CB depth chart. If that.

I'd imagine they are looking at measurables not game film.

When he exhausts his eligibility I think he's got a chance to be drafted late like James Wright. He seems to have handled his demotion well and really taken to his ST role.

they have recruited just as well as anyone...even bama (almost), now jimbo brought in a staff that can develop all that talent. that's what separates good coaches from great ones.

Just remember this when people start using year old opinions by talking heads to justify things like a player's stock has dropped.

These guys have no idea what they are talking about. They don't get accurate until they get closer to the draft and the true evaluators of talent leak their boards to them.

Didn't Collins move to safety? The NFL need safeties who can cover and not just big hitters with all the new targeting rules and the pass happy NFL.

11. Jalen Collins, CB, LSU (Jr.): A 6-1, 192-pound corner who is smooth in coverage, he showed up big time when I watched LSU tape from a year ago.

All of these mocks are horribly inaccurate. Collins came in and was hyped up and played solid when he got on the field at first. And, he was a young DB playing early at LSU. We get a lot of respect with DBs and the young ones will be hyped up. I doubt that many people doing mocks actually pay attention. Because if they did, they would realize that Collins was passed up by 2 freshman this year and when he played, he wasn't good.

When it gets close to the season and they actually do some research and redo these mocks, he won't be on there.

That list is useless! The draft "experts" can't even get it right when they release a draft board the day before much less a yr in advance. Collins in the first round is laughable. He will have absolutely no game film to go off of when they scout him for the draft. He's the 4th best corner on the team let alone a first round pick.

Better in coverage than Randall Gay and he made it a while. He will at least get drafted and doesn't have a silly nickname.
