Jacques did a live this morning discussing the frustrations and the media's questions. No answers, but it was reasonable if you'd like to watch.

He sure did. Almost seemed like Bonnette took him aside and asked him to help a brother out.

He just wants to keep his job and access because coaches don't want to answer difficult questions. Thus, he has a self-interest bias...as well all do. But don't try to pretend that you don't. It's disingenous.

His first question at the press conference yesterday after LSU's defense gives up the most yards to an opponent in the ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY YEARS of the program is....

"Coach, would you say Matt House and the defense were a big reason you won 10 games last season?"

First, WTF does last season have to do with last Saturday night? Second, it sounds like a partisan question to a political figure in the midst of a negative reality that EVERYONE knows exist. It would be akin to one of these loser political journalist asking this question in the midst of a terrible economic climate: "Mr. President. Would you say last year was a great economic recovery".

As a journalist you don't have to be ugly or combative with your question. But don't try to sell some bullshite about being unbiased when you ask such a blatantly pandering question. Is Doucet moonlighting as Kelly's press secretary? What a tool

Definitely seemed like a pre-planned question. BK didn't even pause to answer it.

Most DC's don't install their schemes and/or doctrine till late in the season (Texas A&M) or the following Spring during their 1st season. Last year was let's get on the field what they already know--By November we can start the "Install" of our vision as a defense. So Doucet's question was valid--The answer was if BK going to admit if it was House's official True defense last season vs Now.

Absolutely was preplanned and I am sure it was a favor to bonnette. I do not think it was done to keep himself in the good graces and to not be shutout by the media dept. Jacques is always fair with his questions and statements. He has been covering LSU so long there is no reason for him to build up good will, he always has this. It was just a odd question because I don’t anyone would say that House and the defense didn’t do a good job last year.

His first and only priority at yesterday’s presser was damage control. It was water carrying at its finest. It would even make MSNBC blush.

This is what I have been saying during the game. Dont worry the media will throw Coach softball questions and nothing will ever legitimately be asked. Even though they need to ask how does he plan on fixing the problem....

Easy question, Coach, you know LSU fans are some of the most passionate in the the business. Right now they are all angry at the product on the field. How do you plan on fixing this situation? Do you plan on any coaching changes? When he responds with he isnt worried about what the fans think. That is when you hit him with well Coach you are aware that tax payers are the ones in Louisiana that are paying your salary?

His follow up was just as bad.. “when the defense struggles the fans go after the coordinator. How are you two working together to get it fixed.” It was a leading question that seems like it was planted.

Seems like all the local media guys are like that. Scared to lose access to the program. Moscona is the the only one who called out Kelly's BS.

This could be the dumbest statement I've seen on the board in quite a while. And that's saying something!

No coach is "waiting until the end of the season" to install is preferred game plan/approach. They start the season with the approach/scheme they want to play and adjust as the year goes on (if necessary) once they see how the approach looks in action vs. in theory.

The A&M defeat last season wasn't a result of LSU installing it's "true defense" ahead of that game. It was due to the fact A&M now had 11 games of actual data to analyze and was able to execute a plan to exploit LSU's weaknesses. The defensive approach LSU took vs. A&M was not significantly different than the approach they took against Alabama. It's just that late in the season opponents had a better idea as to how to exploit the holes. That's why Perkins suddenly went from a game wrecker to non-existent. He didn't do anything differntly. The opponents adjusted to him.

Is he the one that asked that first question about fans going after the DC? That seemed so scripted to me and just pissed me off even more.
