The most lsu thing ever to come out of this would be LSU owe Kelly more than the original buyout because Governor Aligator Hunter leaked false info about Kelly out there and then he wins a defamation case to go on top of his buyout

Interesting. If Kelly negotiated a lump sum payment vs. payment over 6 years, he may have taken the deal. If you consider the Net present value of $50M discounted by cost of capital at 10% is $37M it would imply he took a $10M haircut for morals. If paid over six years, he took an $18M haircut in terms of net present value dollars.

It wouldn’t be because of any morality clause. It would be because LSU waived or modified the mitigation and offset provisions.
