Well, yeah... that's kind of how recruiting works.

If Orgeron didn't get Burrow, we would've been fricked the last 2 seasons.

When was the last time Urban had to take a transfer or he'd be fricked?

The reason we needed Mett is that we had no depth, the reason we needed Burrow was Les left us with no depth.

When Mett came we had
Stephen Rivers 3*
Jerrard Randall 4*
Rob Golden (transfer from Penn State)

Then the following year
Anthony Jennings 4*
Hayden Rettig 4*

Les had many faults here with QB development and an offense that didn't modernize with the rest of the game. That said, he doesn't deserve to be ran down by our fanbase.
The end, particularly Jan 9 2012, has tainted everyone's thoughts on him and it's understandable. He underachieved here but he also won a title, that he probably shouldn't have, and led the best team we've seen at LSU short of 2019 in 2011. He provided many memorable moments and compiled an outstanding record here. He was the only coach to field a team that could consistently match physicality and talent with Sabans Bama dynasty.
He is a good man that could recruit families with the best of them and a man that many would love to have around their program. His time ran its course, as it does for many coaches(Andy Reid Philadelphia for example) but the way it ended shouldn't completely tarnish all the great things he did for our program.
We could've crumbled after Saban yet instead the recruiting and national prestige got even stronger, at the very least comparable. Hopefully time will heal the wounds of our emotionally fragile fanbase so that he one day gets the respect he deserves from us.

Brandon Harris can blame his faults on himself. It's his right to speak his mind and I'm sure he feels he was hamstringed by the offense but what about UNC? If it was all Les then why wasn't he successful there? Sounds like a guy with sour grapes and a job at a competing university for recruits.

Brandon’s a great kid and the coaches didn’t trust BH6 and tbh his ability to process diagnose and react just wasn’t Sec level. Great arm talent but imo he needed a simpler offense like an air raid type. Leach offense or what’s his face that used to be at TTU

Sounds a bit like he’s trying to play the race card. Les was a QB killer, but Harris didn’t have the stuff to make it as a QB at the Division I level.

Les had it out for Harris so bad that he even convinced Larry Fedora to bench him at UNC after he transferred there.

If Brandon was good he would have succeeded at UNC as a senior. He didn’t.

Actually it just sounds like Harris is a sore loser.

Remind me when Les blamed Harris on anything.

I cant really blame a player when countless at the position turned out the same way. Its hard for me at this point not to point the finger at Les. Same shite, different year, different Qb. As much as you like Brandon, maybe he was not prime for the SEC, but that falls on Les as well.

Les had 3 QBs from LSU start in the NFL.

Go ahead and name the coaches at LSU with that same resume

He’s always been like that. He talked a good game but he was not great at handling adversity when it came down to it.

More than anything else, Harris was a major recruiting whiff. We should have let Auburn have him. Les felt compelled to use him even though it was obvious he couldn't play. We didn't really have any other great options on the roster, either.

felt at times we were calling the game so different in comparison to when [Danny Etling] was in the game or if I was in the game and just make it seem like it was a Brandon Harris issue, which it wasn't.

Sorry but if this is the case it means the coaches don’t trust you to run what the other guy is running so yes it is a Brandon Harris issue. I don’t think the coaches are going to play the lesser talented QB and give him more responsibility because they like him better.

Brandon Harris looked great in the final minutes against Mississippi State. Almost brought us back to victory after being down 20.

We should have ran a two minute offense the entire 2014 season.
