Saban would sacrifice everything in existence to win.
Really? Would Saban Sacrifice a player's health? What about the reputation of the school he represents? What about his responsibilities as a father and a husband?
What abut his character? Would Saban sacrifice all (or any) of these things just to claim a win?
If so, what does that say about him as a man?

When I think of Joseph Addai, I think of the sign outside of some plumbing company in baton rouge that said "Joseph Addai works here."

if saban didn't like him, he definitely had a good reason. i know you hate saban like the rest of us but, if he disliked a player, it was probably cuz said player was lazy, a smartass, or something like that.
You are 100% correct and getting downvoted to hades.

I’d much rather Addai’s bad side than Saban’s. If Saban didn’t like it was Addai’s fault.

I don’t think he didn’t “like” him. I think he saw him as more of a utility guy than a bellcow RB. But Joe was a stud and one of my favorite Tigers.

News flash: he didn’t like anyone that didn’t need him.

I was friends with Joe in college. The only conflicts I know of was that Joe smokes like a pack per day, and Saban told him to quit for fear of it impacting his conditioning. Joe never did.

This is a weird take.

Saban was mad cause JA was so much taller than him

tweet at Hester and Flynn and ask them
It may have been just "talk show" speak, but they both said they had no idea why Saban didn't like him.
They also mentioned that their pregame meal was always steak. For the Jefferson Pilot 11:00 game the pregame meal was at 6:00 am & a breakfast menu was served in lieu of steak. They said Saban went ballistic & chewed out everyone serving & preparing the meal.

There are a number of different stories about bizarre and questionable things that happened while with Miami.
Former Dolphins player P.K. Sam added to the list when he tweeted Thursday that Saban once cut him 10 years ago for visiting his dying father.
"Thank you nick saban @AlabamaFTBL. 10 yrs ago today you cut me from the @MiamiDolphins bc I flew home to hug my dad before he died. CLASSY!"
Good night. Great coach, but man is he a piece of garbage.

That needs to be a sign at college gameday.

I’d be willing to bet a years salary Addai is a better person than Saban

A great Tiger regardless. I remember him rolling tacklers in the Auburn game in '05 also. My daughter was watching the game in another room and she ran in during one drive, "Who's that #10 guy...Joseph Baddai? He's good!"

Here's a bit of irony. Saban hires DJ Durkin as a consultant after being fired for events leading to an offensive lineman dying from heat stroke after practice at Maryland. Saban while at Miami steps over Jeno James his OL that is convulsing on the floor after collapsing in the locker room after a long practice in the Florida summer heat. Fortunately he goes to the hospital and is Ok, but if things had turned worse James could have died and Saban likely is fired and never gets hired by Bama. As a Miami player recalled:
quote:
Nick Saban literally just starts walking in, steps over Jeno James convulsing, doesn’t say a word, doesn’t try to help, goes upstairs, I don’t know what he does. But then obviously they get Jeno trauma-offed to the hospital.
Saban calls a team meeting about 10:30 that night, comes down and says, ‘You know, the captain of the ship can never show fear or indecision, we’ve always gotta have an answer, and so I had to go upstairs, that’s why I walked over Geno like that, I had to collect my thoughts and decide what’s best for our team.’
And I’m thinking to myself, I think along with Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas and Yeremiah Bell and all these other guys going, ‘Did he, does he really believe what he’s just saying?’ He showed no human emotion for one of his best players. He literally stepped over him when four or five grown men are trying to carry Jeno to the training room.

Burrow graduated.
So n. He's not a quitter anymore than Russel Wilson.
(By the way, I'm just pushing back on the other poster saying Saban quit. I don't think any player that transfers (whether they graduated or not) is a quitter, they're just doing what's best for them in the limited eligibility window, and I have no problem with it).
