Well, they aren't even really his power ratings. All it essentially is an ordered list of who would be favored over who on a neutral field according to FanDuel and he shows the list on his show because they sponsor his show. So really your grievances should be directed at FanDuel. And if you disagree and think they're full of shite, maybe you should think about creating a FanDuel account and bet on their platform where you think they're getting it wrong, sounds like you could win a lot of money if you're so sure of yourself.
Even he disagrees personally with a lot of it which is why his own personal rankings differ, and he picks against the model all the time when predicting individual games.

If he was ranking teams based on who would be favored on a neutral field we’d easily be ranked in the top 10. First dead giveaway is seeing Ole Miss at #9 and we play them this week on the road and it’s practically a pick em game. On a neutral field we’d be favored. So he’s full of shite if that’s what he claims those rankings are that have us #15. Rantards can cry about it all they want it won’t change anything, we’re a top 10 team. Its always funny watching people lose their mind over computer generated power ratings.
Pate has 2 sets of rankings/ratings
- These are his computer model power ratings, if you ever took the moment to watch even 1 minute of a show he does when he talks about these, he will tell you they are computer generated and modeled around what vegas does in the sense of "ranking" the teams based on their ratings the system gives them which is simply who would be favored over who on a neutral field. He OFTEN will bluntly say he disagrees with some of the ratings the model spits out which is why...
- He has his own power RANKINGS he does on his own which is more opinion based like the AP/coaches poll is
Amazing this dude has been around for like what, 7-8 years now and people still dont understand these basic things. you can disagree with power ratings all you want, all it is though is what vegas lines would have, which is why Ole Miss is higher than us in the power ratings here....because they are favored over us in vegas. Because someone beat someone doesnt mean vegas will favor that team over them in a rematch, they are taking all data into account and get this - some games are outliers to the mean. Yes, in a rankings system you take things at face value, in a RATINGS system it's different as everything is objective as it can be and assigns a specific value for every certain aspect.
Again, ratings systems like this and vegas odds play to the mean, so even if Bama lost to FSU bad the first time, vegas still believes if you play that game 10 times on a neutral field right now, Bama wins more times than FSU which is why they would be favored
