It's time to take a moment to realize just how amazing Jayden Daniels was at LSU

Scary thought: imagine how bad the entire BK regime would be if we either didn't land JD or he wasn't a generational CFB QB in obscurity at ASU

We need to research the drugs that made the 2022 Nuss Buss a thing.

And we have to credit Kelly for bringing him to LSU. I know many on this board hate Kelly and want to run him out of town - you have to give him props for this at least. Now if only the LSU defense had been at least average - but that one has already been beaten to death.

Just imagine we had the 2025 defense with 2023 Jayden offense we would have another Natty on the wall

Not winning a national title with Jayden Daniels should be the death penalty for any coach.

Not to hijack the thread, but I was laughing in another thread about how lucky we are Austin Thomas saved our roster management with NIL fundraising and recruitment. We’d have been 4-8 this season if we wasted that money on Bryce Underwood.

Best college prospect I’ve ever seen (I’m 63). I was shocked Chicago picked the USC QB.

Daniels would be a solid NFL starter if he was not allowed to run, but he is one of the best running QBs in history. He is also a hard worker, loved by his teammates, has a big accurate arm, and is a great leader.

I’ve never seen another QB with all of that.

dunno if I can forgive JD for making me unhappy with LSU QB performance for the rest of my life.

He was like a great dream that can never be lived in real life.

A lot of LSU fans don't truly appreciate 2023. I know they love JD and think he was the best that year blah blah blah, but many still don't understand that was a historical CFB QB season. One of the best of all time.

There have been only 2 other 4000/1000 seasons and (1) both weren't in the SEC and (2) both involved 14+ games.

JD played in 12 and put up 3800 and 1100. Imagine what he would have done with 2-3 more games.

Kyler took 14 games (and a Big12 schedule) to get to 1001 yards rushing (and 4361 passing)

Watson took 15 games (and an ACC schedule) to get to 4104 yards passing (and 1105 rushing).

This is our backup. VanBuren is going to be a solid QB at LSU. He's here now and would have won the game yesterday just with his feet alone.

Nuss is a scared pussy that refuses to run. Nuss is such a pussy, he cost his team a timeout and a minute of gametime because he didn't want to run a QB sneak on fourth down.

And you had Daniels with Nabers and BJT Jr.

You can’t lose 3 games in college with a heisman qb and two legit nfl first rounders at WR.

Well you can, but you shouldn’t.

Nuss is just missing something. Players tend to make the coach, not the other way around. If he was great as his hype, he should be making more things happen. He's a 5th year senior. I have seen QBs with far less talent around them be more consistent.

JD just hid what BK really is. A mediocre overpaid coach that we are stuck with for the rest of his contract.

Might as well get your popcorn and enjoy some Dinardo-esque football.

He was a one of kind QB, especially in his Heisman year. But, if you go back and watch the first game in his final year, he was exactly the same qb he was the previous year, and it wasn't very good. Something happened after that first game.... and I think the coaches or JD just decided that when he couldn't find an open receiver to just take off running because he was always the best athlete on the field. JD was uniquely gifted. The ineptitude of our Oline actually helped him set the records he did, because they forced him to scramble and that became our offense. It was 100% JD and no one should ever compare any other LSU QB to his skills, because they will always fall way short, especially after that first game his last year.

We still had issues with the OL in 2023. JD5 was just so good that he was able to mask them. Go take a look at the rushing stats for 2023 without Daniels' numbers. They were not good.
