I would honestly play Howard if he can make the throws. In a short glimpse, he looked really quick. I wish we were able to see him in the passing game. That was a waste of 1 of 4 in my opinion.

Meaningless mop up duty film? That's what you're basing this on? Hilarious.

I don't think Nuss is amazing but he obviously deserves a shot.

I don’t disagree, but his Dad was thrown to the wolves in year one with a bad team and Walker is coming off a tough injury. I don’t like it, but if Kelly listening to Dad got him here and he works out, it’s worth it.

It’s time to accept

... that LSU is not a playoff contender this season.

Going into this game, there was more talk on this board about the Tennessee game, then there was about playing on the road at Auburn.

"Auburn sucks, they're going to fire their coach".
"CBS is dumb, they should have made the LSU-Tenn game their 2:30 showcase"
etc

This team is what it is; year one of a rebuild. No, our QB isn't going to be drafted in the first rd. No, our backup QB isn't a better option. He'd be starting if that was the case. No, the guy who quit wouldn't have been better... because he quit. He wasn't willing to put in the work, didn't stick it out. You want that attitude- that's the type of mindset that gives up down 17-0 on the road.

We don't have elite NFL WRs; guys are dropping passes that need to be caught. It's high or behind... you got both hands on it, in a conference road game. NFL WRs catch those. They may be elite athletes, but that's not the same thing.

I'm so tired of this BS narrative.

Ding ding ding

He will never be a pocket passer. Roll him out, or fake in the pocket then escape and run = 10-15 yards a pop.

Actually, experiment should be over with Daniels and Nuss. Put in Howard so we can run a real offense and have someone who is accurate and can throw to our so-called talented WR

This is a rebuilding team, but the WR unit is still one of the biggest strengths and deepest units on this team. The fact that we aren’t taking advantage of that doesn’t mean they suck. I guess Brian Thomas is terrible because he couldn’t get a toe down inside the line on a high and away ball that he managed to snag, right? I will grant you that Taylor and Nabers had some bad drops last night, but if you think Daniels is doing them any favors, then I don’t know what to tell you.

Some of you will say anything to cover for our mediocre QB play.

Not happening until next year. I wish it would by the bye week, but it likely won’t unless there are multiple injuries.

How so? 5 of his 6 passes were perfectly thrown balls. Not his fault the WRs can't catch easy passes and won't fight for contested ones.

How is Emery's fumble his fault?

The guy made one mistake last night, but he didn't turn it over.

Face it, JD is one of the main reasons we were down 17 to start with. The offense didn't even sniff a score until after the defense showed them how it's done.

Sheer genius. You knew, yes you did. And before the season.
We gotta fire Kelly and put you in charge. Clearly this has never occurred to them and here you are. You knew before the season!!

I have never seen so many arm chair coaches. The problem resolves around coaches and players. Quarterback not confident in his passing ability, the receivers not breaking off routes to help. The coaches for not correcting these little things. Daniels play over the coarse of his careir is what it is

I'm not covering for anything

WE DON'T HAVE A GREAT QB ON THE ROSTER. Hopefully, Howard develops into one.

Despite this, we just went into Auburn, and won a game that looked like a blowout loss in the first half.
I'm not going to kick the dog and beat the wife and kids over that.

I’m betting you are just another idiot pushing for either Daniels or Nuss even though neither has been the least bit impressive for more than two consecutive drives.

Then why should we arbitrarily force playing one of them, when neither has showed the poise or consistency to play a complete game yet?

I’m happy for last night’s win, but if you will be happy with how we played last night the rest of the season, we could legitimately finish 5-7. We only play 1 more team as mediocre to bad as Auburn the rest of the way, and they may be better coached. Last night won’t cut it against any of our remaining SEC opponents.

The argument is that it is better than the alternative.

This. Daniels hasn't set the world on fire, but he's led the team to a 4-1 record. And he did everything you could ask in the loss. Should have been in OT, good argument he wins it on a 2 pt conversion.

We haven't seen a lot of Nuss, but what we have seen hasn't been spectacular. He looked bad against the worst competition we've seen in Tiger Stadium in decades.
Is it truly incomprehensible that Kelly and Denbrock are simply putting the best player they have out there, just because dude doesn't look great?
Do you need Nuss to come in and blow a game, before you accept the coaches might know something?

I agree with OP. Play the hot hand. Plan to have Nuss take series 3 unless Daniels starts hot.

I totally agree . The defense won that game last night . As we enter the meat of the SEC schedule , we need a whole lot more production out of the QB position than what I have seen with JD . He won’t throw an INT because he is afraid to throw the ball period . Other teams will replicate the Auburn game plan and force JD to beat them by actually throwing the ball . We have nothing to lose by playing Nuss some . CBK said Nuss was starting to let the game come to him and not press . It takes time … game time to develop a QB . See what he can do . I think you might be pleasantly surprised . Can’t ask the D to play the whole game for you against good competition . Just sayin’ !!
