Dude, we have good reason to believe that at least half of the conference. Mostly the big players. Just tried to get your team blackballed from college sports essentially. They just made an attempt to torpedo your program......
Are you kidding me? You're like a wife that's getting beaten but trying to convince all your friends and family that he's still a good guy.
Pathetic.
I do agree however that we need them. But we don't have to rah rah SEC and put up with their bullshite. The best thing we can do is stay and make their lives living hell. I hope every one of them besides LSU loses this weekend. So we can point, laugh and make memes and shite talk the SEC about how bad they've fallen off.

Poor little guy. They hurt your feelings so you wanna take your ball and go home
Some of you folks are so thin skinned don’t know how you get through life.

Pretty sure the Big 10 has academic requirements that we don’t meet.

No, it’s not this stupid take. I wish you people would quit saying this best thing for us to do is beat everybody by 35.

Unofficial AAU membership
And they would have to want us. Why would they want us after this? They're more rule oriented and anal about bad behavior than the SEC.
*ETA: unless that bad behavior involves sex crimes, for some reason.

While I wouldn’t hate it,
I would absolutely hate it. Playing at 11am, playing fricking mid-west and Northeast teams would suck.
You think the Big10 is some righteous conference? Look what happened this weekend with the Mich game.
You think the Big 10 would be doing the same thing as the SEC is doing right now. The Big10/12, ACC, and SEC all immediately voted and added the same rules to their conference concerning pros coming back to college. The Big10 would be doing the exact same thing as the SEC is now if Penn State or Michigan did what LSU was doing.
Now I don't think LSU was wrong in what they were doing, it's a gray area and controversial situation that is unique for the 2022 guys and should've been tested.
We are founding members of the SEC and have tradition, rivalries, good money from TV/conference, etc. We are going to throw that away to go to another conference that has shown they are no better and we would be the red-headed step child of that confernce.

The B1G is not a good alternative or home for us and certainly we shouldn't lower ourselves to the ACC or Big 12. Even if the B1G were an option, we have no rivals or cultural connections. Travel would suck and playing in the frigid north in late October and November is a non-starter.

I'll second that. We could join AAU and the B1G. An upgrade on both counts.

Some pros in going to Big 10:
1. Better TV money
2. Possibly give unique recruiting edge
3. Hurt SEC after recent events
4.Dominate conference in baseball
Cons:
1. Travel would be awful for our athletes
2. Recruits that want to play close to home would possibly go elsewhere
3.Baseball would be hurt. Playing in a weaker conference with long travel.
4. Athletic travel expenses would negate extra tv money
5. Lose historic rivalries

LSU is no where near AAU status. Unfortunately it’s been made worse these last 5 years with the lower admissions standards push for increased enrollment.

Enough of this talk, there is much more to it than just switching conferences.

Yeah would get expensive as hell sending every sport cross country from Seattle to New Jersey. That wouldn’t be sustainable financially.

I think it would be fun as a fan. Road trips to Michigan, Ohio, Penn State, LA, Oregon. Even Iowa would be cool.
People will say they want to stay for tradition, but I'm 46 and the SEC is not what it used to be. It was perfect as a 12 team league with two divisions - the new version is a different mix of cultures (at least in my mind).
So if we're going to change it up, why not go for something completely new and interesting?

If Nebraska is not an AAU member, LSU doesn’t have to be.
LSU is currently not an academic match for the Big Ten. I would love to see that changed.
Perhaps under auspices of giving LSU better options, should something like this occur in the future, the powers that be will consider moving toward AAU standards. That would be great for the school, great for the state, and achievable within a decade.

I wouldn't have a problem with it because I am quite sure LSU is going to get the worst officiating and umpiring and refereeing in the history of LSU going forward, and the SEC isn't going to even sniff an apology for their corruptness.
For that reason, I am ready to be part of something that actually treasures LSU's involvement.
We shouldn't be against change.....not too long ago, Okla, Ark and Texas were all part of the powerful SWC conference, and now they are all leading many sports in the SEC. Times change, and this just might be LSU's turn. I would welcome it at this point.
