Regardless of the fact I think there were still several better options out there, Jones is our DC now.
I would like to see him succeed, because it means LSU football succeeds. He has a lot to prove as a DC, and maybe he will be up to the task, we are going to find out very quickly either way.

So YOU see these "several better options", with all your experience in evaluating coaches, and Coach O is blind to them? Any thought given to the possibility that Coach contacted these better options & for whatever reasons, they were not offered ? Or do you think these were the only 3 he considered?

I will say this--if Ed O is reaching out to Dave to make this hire, O knows jack squat about what he is looking for in a D coordinator. Also, O publicly claimed that Pellini's D was better than Aranda's. This was Aranda's chance for vengeance. I won't be surprised if we shite the bed again this year. An unproven coordinator with unproven recruiting prowess with no ties to Louisiana. Sounds like Pellini; doesn't it?
