Note: This is part 1 in a daily series this week intended to educate the current student body and other newer fans on the hatred that exists between LSU and Auburn. Get Tiger Stadium rocking on Saturday!

Look at how jacked up the crowd was that night. This was the postponed 9/11 game. Pure magic. After the incident linked below, where Tiger Stadium had our band's back, the entire crowd belted out, "Auburn sucks! Auburn sucks! Auburn sucks!"

Full Halftime

As a high school student, this was amazing.

TO THE STUDENTS: At some point DURING the game, let's get an "Auburn Sucks!" chant.

Was at that game- I dare anyone to try and convince me that they've seen a game atmosphere anywhere close to that over the last 5-7 years. Just can't find one

Back when everyone wasn't an entitled hack.

they won, everyone loved it never mind the did you or did you not score enough points against an inferior opponent talk.

they lost, that sucks, who's next on the schedule?

LINK - Great Article on Cigar and Band Fight 2001

quote:

"It was karma that night," said LaHatte, who was in the middle of the altercation. "The band was fired up. That was probably one of the largest roars you heard from the fans during our halftime show because they were mad, too

quote:

Oh my God," said LaHatte. "I hate Auburn to this day. I'd rather have a daughter in a whorehouse than a son at Auburn."

Wasn't this the game Auburn got an unsportsmanlike penalty before the game started for stomping on the tiger eye? Nick came out and called a onside kick to start the game and LSU recovered the ball.

Earlier in the year Tubberville talked about that night while he was announcing a game doing his new gig.

2001. TGBFTL was much better then. Wickes/Moorhouse still in control. RK in his rightful position as Associate DOB. (He was perfectly suited for that)

Die-Hard LSU football fans were still numerous in the stadium.

The atmosphere hadn't been degraded by the LSUAD DG's as of yet.

Free parking, no restrictions.

Ticket price increases and associated fees hadn't hit hard yet.

No ultra noise pollution in the stadium.

Worth fighting the traffic because it was worth it for the experience.

The bigger LSU endzone logos still there in 2001.

All seems like a hazy distant memory and it really wasn't that long ago...................
