It would be a shame if the core of this team never reaches Omaha

Guys like Crews, Dugas, Beloso, Morgan, and Thompson have meant so much to the program over the past 3-5 years. I would hate it for them to finish their careers at LSU and never make it to Omaha. I still believe the last 3-4 weeks aren’t who this team truly is. Hopefully we find a way to put it all together and play up to our ceiling. If we do, we can win this whole thing.

Well, start playing better and be more clutch.

If they do play to their potential, they will win the whole thing.

We dont have the pitching. Period. Too many injuries and not enough good arms left. We go 1-2 in our own regional.

It’s always a shame when you fail, but you don’t get rewarded because you deserve it. They have to play better and Johnson needs to make better decisions. In the long term, Johnson has to do a better job recruiting, particularly pitchers.

Everyone knows Saban and Bama are going to beat ND or Michigan in a major playoff. In college baseball, a team like Ole Miss or Coastal Carolina can get hot and win a NC. Maybe the very best team in CBB had an off weekend and lost in a SR .
Ole Miss isn’t anything special this season . Mississippi state wasn’t either.

If this team doesn’t make it to Omaha it’s mostly on those players you mentioned.

The staff has recruited and put them in places to make it very far. The players need to play to their abilities and quit frickin about.

So the slump in May is all on the team? JJ has been pushing all the right buttons? Sure.

Are you suggesting player slumps are on the coach? That Crews, for instance, needs coaching to get out of a slump? Or maybe you wanted to sit Crews? Or maybe you can somehow coach a freshman like Jones to figure out breaking balls mid season with limited practices as required by the NCAA?

I think the odds are slim to none. We can't hit good pitching and struggle offensively often. We also are very shallow in pitching especially the bull pen.

I don't see Omaha in this teams future.

Well, it might be a shame.....I say we are 50-50 on Omaha.

I think we are a really good team at times, but not enough lately, but baseball is a funny game of hills and valleys.

You never know.....Geaux Tigers!

There is little a coach can do to crawl between a slumping players ears. Yes, they can try to push buttons but it’s really up to the players and they team to get one another off a slump.

The reason why there is even a question of going to Omaha is because some of these names aren't currently playing at that level.

It’s up to them.

Sure we can cheer em on, but when push cones to shove it’s up to them to get the big hit, make a big play in the field , or strikeout a key batter.

The coach can make the line up, call the pitches, but he can not hit or pitch. That’s on the players.

They have stepped up all year. I think they will again.

You are correct, Johnson has 4 years in a row recruiting pitchers for LSU and should have stockpiled more.

Oh, he has only been at LSU for basically 1 1/2 seasons for recruiting

LSU did not win a national title in football last season and Brian Kelly is to blame

At some point the coaches hired need to be given a chance.

SEC pitchers have figured out the tendencies of LSU’s hitters. Hitting can become contagious so it’s definitely possible LSU breaks the slump against OOC pitchers in the Regionals. After following the season this far, I’m not comfortable unless LSU scores 8-10 runs in a game.
