It seemed like the game was too big for Kole Taylor and Trey Palmer.

Kole cannot be relied on as a pass catching TE. He has a lot of growing up to do to play at an SEC level.

Had high hopes fo Trey Palmer. I guess I just misread his talent level. IMO Palmer is a case where straight line speed does not equal football speed.

I think he got hurt. If I'm wrong BTJ needed more playing time.

Palmer got open. He can't catch with his feet. He even made a diving catch.

How many throws his way that he could have caught? His pass catching ain’t the problem.

Trey Palmer has 8 catches, 100+ yards and a TD if Max doesn’t throw a ball 10 feet short of him on a slant

People are deflecting. They had huge hopes for the qb and now they're unwilling to face reality.

I’m confused or misremembering. I thought Palmer made several catches/plays last night. He had the almost muff but when else did he mess up?

Agreed on Palmer.

The only pass to Kole was like 40 yards away from him straight to a ucla player.

So its palmer's fault he's running wide arse open down the middle of the field and the QB throws 5ft behind him?

This. Was happening last night in the in game thread. Blaming the WRs for drops when Max was giving them poorly thrown balls that were soft and late

Palmer got 5 more targets than he deserved. At least he caught some of them, but he was underwhelming after the catch.

Put in Thomas and Hilton IMO.

I'm NOT disappointed with any of the WRs. A few drops, none that were really easy catches, for guys who hadn't played much... that's fine and to be expected. Palmer did ok for a guy in his position.

I am generally ok with Johnson. He did get happy feet after awhile, and that behind-the-back deal was a huge no-no; but he'd been getting hit all damn day. Dude was a bit punch-drunk I think, and definitely hearing footsteps.

I'm a bit pissed at the offense and coaches. They were throwing exotic blitzes at us all game long, and we go into a bunch formation, which brings everyone on defense close. Made their blitzing even easier.
That, and standing at the line for 20 seconds without movement, letting the defense set up. No motion, no shifts etc. Seemed like every fricking play was hard work on offense.
I saw zero wins on the line. Those were the big disappointments.

Palmer had a couple of drops he should have brought in, but there were some throws to him that were pretty far off the mark. He wasn’t the issue.

It’s time to play the freshman and sophomores.
At all positions except corner.

That’s just not true. The highlights are on you tube, go check it outPalmer almost broke one for a td . He was fine after the catch but a little timid.

The wrs are fine y’all . We got other issues to worry about

That’s the only one he really made work. To be fair, some of the throws brought him to the ground. Given the amount of swing pass opportunities, he was not very productive. Put those in Boutte’s hands and it’s 100+ more yards and probably a score.

Not a bad game by Palmer at all, but we need more production in those situations…especially given the space from the defense.

My opinion is that we should have given those looks to someone else after watching the first few go for 2-3 yards a piece. His last chance was much better.
